I'm trying to give your advice a shot however I'm a little confused as I've never hex edited a save file before (well at least something this complicated, more like coins or integer values in the past). Do I open the save with the custom designs and map in the hex editor, find your listed values then paste it into a second opened hex editor with my own save in it?

Hello everyone. After a period of hard work, I completed 14 tool islands with the help of my friends. These tool islands mainly allow friends who do not have hacked Nintendo switch to carry some rare items and help them play the game more happily. I divided the 14 islands into 3 categories. The first category is pure carry island, this category has 7 maps, of which the Artwork Island has 50 sets of artworks and a large number of mileage tickets. The remaining map can allow 8 people to go to the island to carry items (everyone is the same). The second category is the lucky bag. Our maps are also for 8 people (each person is the same). Since many players like to draw blind boxes, we wrap some popular items with random colored wrapping paper to make it easier for players to go to the island. lottery. Both types have been modularized, you can export each module and combine them. The last category is the clothes and DIY I made before. I added a trash can in it, which is convenient for picking up and throwing away, which can be more orderly.

sorry after long-term observation, we found treasure islands are pointless so we don't update them.

This guide is to make a dream island your own. From there, you can update your dream island with it and then edit your main.dat file to import all of your original files in order to recover your original island while having the new dream island.

In NHSE, open the main.dat file from your island.

1. Go to Map - Edit map - Edit field items.
   • Dump/Import - Dump all acres
2. Buildings:
   • Dump Buildings
   • Write down the Plaza X & Y location coordinates
3. Terrain:
   • Dump/Import - Dump all acres
4. Acres:
   • Dump/Import - Dump Map Acres

Now do the exact same steps for any dream island main.dat you want to have in your dream offline.

After you've exported both your island and dream island main.dat map files, open your own save main.dat and go to Map - Edit map - Edit field items. You need to import all 4 files you exported from the dream save.

My recommendation is to do it in inverse order, starting from 4. Acres (which will set the correct river exit locations). So:

1. Import Acres
2. Import Terrain
3. Import Buildings (remember to set the correct Plaza X & Y coordinates from the dream main.dat file)
4. Import Items
   • Delete Luna's Bed in the plaza
   • Delete item #13218 in the plaza

Update your dream with this new island. Then after it's updated, go back to edit your main.dat and import your original files and plaza coordinates.

Do with this guide what you will, but you shouldn't be updating your own dream island with another person's island, or playing online with another person's island for that matter. I use this method mainly for playing around with the editor, and never to play online with other people.

Is there a way to export/import any of the custom paths that were in the dream dump? I followed all these steps and made sure I also imported the patterns and PRO designs that were in the dream dump but they didn't show up on my island.

Edit: Figured it out. It's in Terrain -> Modify All -> Import/Export all Placed Design Choices

You wont find it, the only catalog islands shared can be updated
