THIS TOPIC IS DEAD IN FAVOUR OF PLUGIN SOLUTION!
https://gbatemp.net/threads/monster-hunter-rise-resolutions-plugin.592192/

This resolutions mod bumps rendering resolutions to native values.
So now instead of 960x540 in handheld is now 1280x720, in dock instead of 1344x756 is 1920x1080.

Don't expect that default clocks will handle those patches, so in handheld you need to OC GPU above 460 MHz, dock above 768 MHz.

Zip consists of two folders in exefs_patches:
- MHRiseDockResNative - changes docked mode resolution to native
- MHRiseHandheldResNative - changes handheld mode resolution to native

It's compatible only with [version / titleid]:
- 1.1.1 / 0100B04011742000 [West], 0100559011740000 [JAP]
- 1.1.2 / 0100B04011742000 [West], 0100559011740000 [JAP]
- 2.0.0 / 0100B04011742000 [West], 0100559011740000 [JAP]
- 3.0.0 / 0100B04011742000 [West], 0100559011740000 [JAP]

If you want support for different titleid, send me main on Discord.
I'm officially supporting only 0100B04011742000, so any updates for different titleid will require sending me main from updated game.
I'm not doing patches for older versions of game, only for latest one at moment you read this.

Package filename scheme:
Code:
MHRiseResNative-x.x.x-yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.zip
x.x.x - version of game
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy - titleid

Instructions:
  1. Copy folder exefs_patches to sdcard folder:
    • Atmosphere:
      • atmosphere/
    • SX OS:
      • sxos/
  2. Play game.

Special Thanks to @MHVuze for the commission work on this hack!

I have only ported it to IPS, separated patches for handheld and docked + added patch for Japanese version.

I can't if I don't even know about what release region we are talking about.

If it's about west, then everything works on my unit and can't help if it doesn't work for you. :P

Thanks for your efforts. But you said this game doesn’t use dynamic resolution but now surprisingly you did this amazing patch for this game. So I wonder if you can do the same thing on Final Fantasy 12 game. If you did It we’ll be really grateful. Thanks again.

I tried increasing clocks but it seems sub 30fps (docked). And handheld runs mostly fine I think. Is there a possibility for 1600 x 900?
Unless im doing something wrong I cant seem to hit 30fps in 1080p but it does look way better and doesnt give me eye strain.

Because for 2x higher pixel count you need more than 921 MHz. Just edit exefs patch. It's using float that is multiplied by window resolution. So for 1600x900 it's 0.8(3) :P

Dynamic res is dynamic res. It means it changes resolution constantly. Not that it has different rendering resolution than window resolution. I think I have explained this many times when discussing FF XII. :V

thanks for the hardwork, nice it really works, any chance docked to 810/900p or anything will run 30fps at 921mhz, cause the 1080p the game only run 20fps hehe

the game on 720p looks like using shaperning to much like witcher 3, but withcer 3 has TAA option

I have no knowledge what software to use to edit these IPS files but if you can point me in the direction to modify such files ill give it a try

Works like a charm on handheld with average ocs, had a very inconsistent fps ratio on docked tho. Need to even further oc it but it is very risky for an unpatched erista I think. And I think the difference on handheld is greater than docked, at least seemed to me that way. (Maybe my TV is bad :P) Anyway thanks for this! Looks really well on handheld!

Possible to increase it even further? LIke to 1440p and 2160p, for emulator usage and not for Switch obviously.

This is setting rendering resolution based on window resolution. So this patch won't help you getting anything above because window resolution is untouched. And I'm not interested in emulators.

I tried to look into the file but I have no knowledge, I will wait until there is a patch for resolutions between 800 to 900p

Will keep an eye on the thread.
