Gaming Online Play options with a CFW switch

Or are the only options is to remain on stock if I want to play online?

To play on official server you need to have clean NAND, or you get banned. As for other option there are some games you can play on lan play.

how does one set up a partitian for EMUNand and does it basically work like CFW on one side, OFW on the other, so I could still play Splatoon 2 with my Niece and access my eshop owned items? cause if that is how it works, so I could still do those 2 things, I am interested in Homebrewing my Switch - mainly looking to do something in pokemon that should be free to do, but nintendo charges for, and I refuse to pay if I can get around it somehow... (moving pokemon from 3DS Y to Switch Shield by recreating them on switch savefile with pkhex - interested if there is someway to do that, or get some of the shinys I have on 3DS to my Switch without paying 10$ for the subscriptions).

But can someone confirm how emunand works? Ive tried looking it up, and I sorta get it, but not really... and I still want to be able to play Splatoon 2 with my niece with lowest chance of ban possible, not planning on running cheats, just a few other things.
And like I probably said, any directions on how to set up something that fits what I am looking to do is helpful! (not planning on running any non-legit games either) what are my options at this point for homebrewing?

No, sysnand with OFW for online, and Emunand with all your CFW stuff offline or with Stealth Mode/90DNS/and Incognito installed.

If that's all your going to do then just run custom firmware once on your Sysnand. Backup your save, edit it, and restore it while not connected to the internet. Otherwise you will Always have to use Emunand just to play pokemon, and will never be able to play online. I personally use custom firmware I'm line all the time and have never been banned. People who have been banned either used pirated software or used custom firmware on line along time ago before security measures like creport were in cfw. I am not recommending this, but I will say if you do it off line once you should be just fine. I have used and traded hacked pokemon online and never got banned, and you aren't even doing that, your just making backups of legit pokemon to use.

I've been online on Emunand with all legit purchased games for the past 6 months and haven't had any issues. Still playing Smash online daily on Atmosphere. Just don't pirate or cheat or do anything else that would catch Nintendo's attention.

How could one even acess nintendo services on emunand? Mine on atmo always gives me errors about firmware whenever I try to connect my switch's account

Have you tried doing a system update? That's the only thing I can think of

Regardless of whether you're using your sysMMC or emuMMC, you cannot connect to Nintendo's online services unless you are using the latest system version (as of this post, it's 11.0.1).

It's recommended that you only connect to Nintendo's online services on a clean sysMMC/emuMMC. If you have traces of piracy or homebrew on your sysMMC or emuMMC, you will get the Switch banned.

Does anyone know if it's 'safe' to play online on CFW with games dumped from your own cartridges? Would be super convenient to not have to switch out my physical games, but I'm worried about getting banned as a result.

Nope, you'd most likely get banned, not just for playing those specific games online but even just having your Switch connected to Nintendo at all while having them dumped.

need help please. My switch ofw is still on 9.0 and my emuMMC is on latest 12.1. I’d like to go online with the OFW. How do I go about doing that? What are the steps needed?
