So when I turned on my switch this morning I was greeted with this message....what can I do to stop/block it???

Im currently on SXOS 3.0.5 and I dont remember what OFW I was on. The odd thing is my Switch has been banned for years and I didnt even think it could connect to Nintendos servers.

I'm not a switch expert, but as far as I've read, you can delete a downloaded update by going into the recovery menu.

Yep I figured it out. :D

But what I dont understand is how could I connect to Nintendos servers to download a system update when my consloe is 100% banned? I cant use ANY online features at all. No eshop, no online play, no game updates, no youtube, etc....

can't help there. I'm legit with my switch, which is largely why I don't know a lot about the system. I figured I wouldn't play any games if I exploited my old system.

AH, Nintendo being tricky?

But why hasnt it happened in the past 2+ years?

I read somewhere that there are two kinds of bans, with one banning you from updating games or the system. maybe they retracted your "superban."

you can still update your switch if you are super banned. it would be illegal for nintendo to block you from updating your switch. plus they probably hope you fuck up and accidentally update it

CDN bans were necessary because the community abused CDN downloading. Now that CDN downloading is dead, there is no need for CDN bans hence why users can still update the firmware when banned.

I kinda figured out what was happening.....

Every time I use atmosphere and then go back to SX OS I get a message to update OFW, but besides that I dont know how/why its happening.
