I recently faced an issue with my micro SD card reader (loose spring) and launching CFW was either hit or miss. So I'd like to know if any CFW can be launched without SD card inserted. If not what is the likelihood of it happening in the future?

Yes, I believe ReiNX allows you to boot without an sdcard installed, you obviously can't use homebrew or anything though. You can play games if you have them pre-installed on your NAND.

Yeah but unfortunately this is what I was hoping. Say for instance embe the kips in the payload so as to make the patching.

Have you considered to buy the replacement part and replaced it?

Something similar I would like to see with L4T Lineage OS. It usually has many bottlenecks when working the operating system, the applications between reading and writing, all in the MicroSD.

Really? ReiNX doesn't have even support for the latest firmware. So, your reply is a bit too late and obsolete. And using a cfw without sd card makes no sense.
There's no reason to be on the latest firmware and some people have broken SD card slots because it is so easy to break.

I think it refers to a permanent CFW and so far CFW cannot be run without RMC
No it refers to people who have or may have a broken SD card reader in their Switch.
