My advice is don't use a laptop for gaming.

Buy a game console or desktop PC for gaming. Buy a cheap laptop or Raspberry Pi for web browsing and word processing.

What is your target in terms of games/settings?

I’d look at some benchmarks for the GPU and see if it’s within you acceptance e.g. frame rate.

I’d also check the I/O and RAM/storage expansion options.

A link to the source may also be useful.

Remember as well that BF/CM is soon, so if you buy now make sure you can return it/exchange it if something cheaper/better comes along.

Wait until Black Friday, and Don't buy name brand like Dell, HP, Lenovo, you just be paying extra.

When it comes to laptops, I’ve seen decent enough deals regardless of the brand, although I believe NA does have a few more options than where I live eg. Walmart.

Allot of the non-mainstream brands I’ve seen are low end e.g. Atom CPU.

Generally I’d only apply that rule to desktops, unless you know what you’re looking for and get a decent deal. Laptops, I’d just consider on a case by case basis.

If you're set on getting a laptop that isn't too bad, but I'm sure you can find better on amazon, also yeah there's black friday and Iirc cyber monday, those are the best times since they're relatively soon

The extra you pay seems to be in build quality and or port selections. Depending on the machines, it’d be worth it. But yes, I’d also say wait until next week. It’s so hard not to purchase right now.

Bit the bullet and bought this. Saved $300 off original price. Got it for less than $1000. So far pretty happy with it. Plays all the games and emulators I want. Maybe not at ultra graphics settings, but good for my taste. Love the build design. Sleek and sophisticated. Not bulky and an eye sore.

Glad you were able to snag it. The laptop I was looking at sold out. Seems like this is the year to buy a good, reasonably priced gaming laptop. I looked in to buying gaming laptops ten years ago and just gave up, because they were all over $2000.

If you NEED a laptop then yes, this is fine. With a $1000 budget you could get a much more powerful desktop though
