Networking help plz - subnets & subnet masks

IDK if this is the right subforum, ban me if not I guess.

So I'm on Virgin Media cable interwebs, have to use their router (Super Hub 2). Was originally using its own wifi, but it was always unreliable, so have disabled wifi on the router and connected a Linksys Velop wifi box to its primary ethernet port (Velop is for mesh wifi, but I'm only using one of them - leaves room for upgrades, plus has great range etc). I've got some other gadgets connected to the Super Hub by ethernet, including our new TV and the android box connected to said TV. These devices connected by ethernet have network addresses 192.168.0.x, and the gadgets connected to the Velop by wifi have 192.168.1.x - everything seemed fine until I tried to get the TV or the android box to communicate with the wifi gadgets (specifically a raspberry pi media centre) - the 192.168.0.x gadgets can't find the 192.168.1.x gadgets.

So, subnets. Is this about subnet masks? Or does the router or the wifi box need to be configured to allow one to access the other? If it's router config required, I might be screwed, as the Super Hub 2 is very limited in what you can change, and you can't flash better firmware.

So I found bridge mode on the wifi box, which has put all wifi-connected devices onto the same 192.168.0.x subnet as everything else, which should get me working for now. If anyone knows how to do it the other way tho, please lmk.

I don't know if it is going to have been subnet issues for you here. What I will say is I have had a horrible time with getting Virgin's superhubs to work with various downstream network hubs and whatnot. I was not able to figure out why and it seems to be widespread but it is something to maybe be aware of.
