Ok so I bought a used Wii to remember the nostalgia, and followed "PENCE PC"'s guide, which is a guide for installing and playing Wii and GameCube games through the USB loader GX. Using the letterbomb exploit, nintendont, another was manager, Wii backup manager and the internet I downloaded a bunch of Isos and transfered them into my 256GB drive. Everything was running smoothly and I encountered no errors. Due to quarantine I stopped playing for a couple of months, since I like playing with my friends. However when the time came to play once again. I encountered multiple errors. Firstly, the loader would not work without the SD card which I am not sure if it is normal or not, but even after inserting the SD, when opening the game list, all of the box photos were erased and when I changed the display to tabs, it would display only some games, while other were showing up to seven times. Needless to say that every time I tried to boot a game it would just kick me out to the main menu. After endless hours on the internet, and communication with PENCE PC, I did not manage to find answers, since nobody has really encountered this issue before. So I went ahead and restarted the whole process, reinstalled usb loader GX etc. And once again everything was running smoothly. I did not reinstall games, since it would be very hard due to the shutdown of portalroms (rip). So as I mentioned everything worked perfectly fine and that night I played just dance with my friends. Fast forward to 2 weeks later. After rebooting the Wii I enter usb loader GX, only to find out that only GameCube games were displayed. I checked thoroughly the settings and filters but everything seemed ok. I tried restarting the Wii and nothing worked. I tried plugging in the usb drive into another port. Still nothing. What is worse is that after a couple of reboots and changing ports, the Wii now does not recognise the drive at all and only displays the Wii channels. I am willing to retry and reinstall everything, however I would really like to understand why this is happening. I read something about Nintendo replacing slots 249 and 250 with something else to prevent piracy. Does that have to do anything with my case. Can someone please shed some light???

slots 249 and 250 are not official (made up). you're cios is mixed, so it's wrong. you should only use one or the other. also, if you're using usb loader gx, make sure wii is selected in the what to display icon. it will display certain things (can't remember which) by default, and I think one of them is the shit wii channels, which you don't need like the eshop or mii maker.

to fix the cios, run the install and either choose 52 or 53 alt. you might want a cios 251 as well. this info is in the tutorial on here.

to get wii games to appear, there's an icon at the top of the home page of usb loader gx that will show what to display: wii, gc, emunand, nand, and something else I think.

Sorry for being incredibly stupid but I cant find a wii guide. The links below your post are PS3 XBOX nad WII U. Could you please link me a guide. Should I start the process of modding over? If so how do I factory reset my Wii. Thanks in advance and sorry for the inconvinience
