Hacking Question Updating a game while in CFW?

I was definitely online in the Emunand, or I wouldn't have been able to update the game via internet, right? And I know I've definitely done that before with BoTW and Pokemon Shield again. So.. not sure why I'm not already banned. Maybe I've just been lucky.

You won't know until you go online in Pokemon or going to the Eshop like previously stated.

I booted into the sysnand I can still access the eShop without an error. Launched Pokemon Shield and all seems fine there too. I only did this update yesterday, though.

On a side note, how do you mod on one unit, then play your modded files/saves on an unmodded unit? Pokemon for example, I have two completely different saves on my sysnand and emunand.

You need two units, one for hacking/edit pokemon via phkex, and one for your online usage.

Got it. I appreciate your responses. Guess I have to wait and see if I get the banhammer. But for now, all seems well.

AFAIK bans aren’t given instantly. People have gotten away with much worse than updating a game cart on cfw and similarly there are reports of bans for just running homebrew. I’d take it all with a pinch of salt and just keep an eye on your Switch.
