Homebrew Question Problem installing NSP files

Hey guys !

Hope you're doing fine and the confinment is not too hard.

I tried to install NSP file on my switch but nothing worked :
- Tried to put it on my sd card but it's 6go so its too heavy (I saw somewhere that the maximum transfer was 4go). Do I tried to compress it but doesnt work.
- Tried with goldleaf but doesnt connect to my switch. It say that it is connected but the switch still freeze and nothing happens.
- Tried with lithium and nut, but they dont want to install it (because of the brick protection). I have to enter the password to admin mod (left right left right... etc), but when I try to enter it only the "up" button works, the other bouton doesnt respond. It makes it impossible to enter the code.

Someone has an idea of how I could do ?

you need sig patches to bypass verification
and just transfer the file to your switch sd to save time and energy. Those other transfer methods can be pretty janky

The thing is my NSP files are over 4go so it says that it's too heavy to be dropped directly on my SD card. But yes I agree it would be the perfect solution

I forgot to mention if you have the .xci file you need to convert it to nsp. If you already have the nsp you need to split the nsp into parts then go into the properties of the file and set it to archive ready. To split and convert you need to have ran Lockpick to dump keys. so

Hello,

First of all thank you for your help.

So I did install the patches from the forum.
I splited my game with splitNSP and put it in my switch folder.

But when I try to install the game with Tinfoil I get a "Install failed, see console for more details.". So when I go to the console, I have the following report :

saving locations.conf
Installing The_File_split.nsp
could not find cmnt!
Install failed, looking for mirror...
Install failed, see console for more detail
saving location.conf

Any idea why it did not work? I tried with other files but have the same problem.

The problem might be the "Install unsigned Code". But once again, when I try to enter the master key only the "up" button works. T.T

You should not encourage people to convert XCI's, that is always a bad idea as it creates bad files that have unsigned code. The best way is to install the XCI directly with Tinfoil, Lithium, SXOS , Awoo, Tinleaf, DBI, pretty much everything except goldleaf will install it.

The latest game I had in xci was labyrinth of refrain so it's been while since I did this until recently with Animal Crossings

And my file was already an NSP. This way is the only who's working. As I said before, even putting the splitted files on my sd card was not functionning.

are they still not functioning? you may need to take the split nsp folder and enable archiving in it's properties, you also would need signature patches still if you haven't got those, and possible enabling of unsigned code

I never said anything about a ban, it’s unsafe for users to install it, distributing that trash also harms preservation, and there is literally no reason to do it, other than users are too stupid to know they should stop.

People should always make sure their files are legit before installing what does that have to do with this?
Also noone would be distributing a file created in such a way

Yes it is still not functionning with the splitted way. I did enable archiving and did the signature patches but I got :

But don't worry now it worked with the USB way, and I can install what I want (It's just slow and not really efficient)
