There's a beautiful game called Fighting Fantasy: Warlock of firetop mountain. It's pretty good for a ds game, similar to Skyrim. A romhack could make the game a lot bigger and better than it is now.
You sure? Im talking stuff like new quests, weapons, classes and places to explore. All I could find out about romhacking was a bunch of Pokemon shit.pretty sure you can do that yourself by just using the tools in romhacking.net
you say that like its easy, pokemon is easily moddable because not only is there huge interest for mods and tools to make them, its also incredibly modular, so modding it is easy. You sure? Im talking stuff like new quests, weapons, classes and places to explore. All I could find out about romhacking was a bunch of Pokemon shit.

Be the change you want to see then, rather than shitting on other tools because they're for Pokemon. The fact that no one has tried anything besides Pokemon because it doesn't have some simple system that doesn't require actually doing anything is saddening.
WTF? There are hacks for hundreds (perhaps thousands) of different games on romhacking.net , not "literally only pokemon".It's not surprising no one has attempted anything substantial before, literally only pokemon.
In many cases even making simple changes to a game requires an enormous amount of trial and error. If you think it's so easy, why don't you try it yourself instead of making a thread titled "REQUEST ROMHACK" ?Considering that you learn romhacking by doing it you'd think this would be easy enough considering the many years that the ds has been out. It consist of finding things by testing them out. The fact that no one has tried anything besides Pokemon because it doesn't have some simple system that doesn't require actually doing anything is saddening.

Any one willing to unpackage the ROM and see how it's insides work?
Not shitting on it. It's obviously a lot simpler game is all. Though I will be attempting romhacking it. As far as I know you open the game up in a hex editor and tweak shit til you find what certain things do. You got any info on this? Found a few books I have yet to read on the subject.Be the change you want to see then, rather than shitting on other tools because they're for Pokemon.

Anyway, I see there's also a version of the game on Steam and it is probably easier to make mods for a PC game than the DS version, especially if you're "talking stuff like new quests, weapons, classes and places to explore".

Can't say I've done much with DS romhacking, though unpacking the ROM with dsbuff and digging around in what it produces might be a good place to start. Not shitting on it. Yeah mate I'll look into it but that steam game is an entirely different genre from the DS version. Much more interested in the rpg element of the DS.
Fair enough. It's not entirely clear from Wikipedia, but if there's an Android version of the DS game, then making big changes to the Android version is still likely to be easier (or at least, not significantly harder) than making changes to the DS version. It is to be expected that trying to squeeze everything into a DS program can easily require developers to use tricks that are difficult to reverse-engineer, whereas Android apps have fewer restrictions. If it was only on iOS, though, that might be too much trouble to deal with.Yeah mate I'll look into it but that steam game is an entirely different genre from the DS version.
