It should work perfectly fine. At least it did the last time I used it. Are you using ctr or ntr for the cheats?

Moreover, if we try the cheat, how do we know if the gender has changed? Does the icon/save gender change because none of that happens to me.
Apparently, when I try adding this cheat, it says the 2nd line is invalid?

No, these are for the ntr cheats of the console app. This has nothing to do with powersaves what so ever.

Nope. You can also make use of checkpoint and JKSM as those are save managers and will produce decrypted saves if anything happens to go awry
