ROM Hack Could we make a bypass for the "link nintendo account" thing on bloodstained, ect?

Its probably an anti-piracy thing.....so expect it in future games.

it's probably not. too few games utilize it and it's not constantly checking either, only once and only once you can technically do even if you're banned later.

and I assume if anyone looked into it, there is a way to have this entire thing circumvented similar to how ticket checks are circumvented.

also, given some pre and post-linked account data, some people in the scene should probably be able to understand what changes enough to let people actually patch already existing accounts to appear linked, hopefully without all the save file hassle.

all that's lacking is demand for them to really look into this, i would assume. and if this happens in more games people were looking forward to, eventually they will

Can anyone help?
I backed up my saves, used Kelif because of the linking problem.
Now with account linked, i tried to restore my saves, but they are stuck in the new account Kelif made. I even renamed it to my original username, but now checkpoint recognizes 2 different accounts: a nameless account made by Kelif and the one with my username.

Anyone know how to transfer the save from nameless into my username?

you need to start every game in which you have a backup, atleast once before.

Hey,I heard something about using dev menu you need to erase all the saves by the n/a user or somthing, then restore your saves.

I was wondering, for those unbanned yet, if theres a window of opportunity to quickly link an account via the official way to a dummy profile, if so should it be done on OFW or CFW ? what are the chances of getting banned afterwards if one is quick on the fingers ?

Yes, I've done it on CFW successfully linking my NID account.

Great, did you get banned afterwards? Any reason not to do it in OFW (do not care about fuses) ? You need to be in the latest FW (8.1) else it will ask you to update before linking or am I wrong?

I'm interested in this, but I have two questions:

1) if i use kefir to link a dummy account on my switch, will I be able to collect koins in MK11? What if my console will be banned?

2) Can someone post a pic of the dummy account injected by kefir? What email have been used? What about the "friends" list etc?

Thanks for the infos.

now to hope he does another one for the official day one update.

It's the "Startup User Account" Flag inside of control.nacp,
0x00 = None
0x01 = Required
0x02 = RequiredWithNetworkServiceAccountAvailable

All what he did, was to patch the 02 into 01.
As far as i know, atmosphere can't redirect Control's romfs currently, so the nca needs to be edited.

//edit: the Offset is 0x3025

Is this a constant between games or is this Bloodstained specific? I don’t personally care about this game but given how effective this has been for deterring constantly-offline consoles I can see this being implemented more frequently in the future.

control.nacp has the same format for every switch game, but of course a newer SDK can add more values.

It would be better if atmosphere would allow a layeredfs version of it, so we could add more stuff, like enable video/screenshot, disable hdcp/crash reports and of course homemenu title translation.

Yeah. If it's a static location for every game I'm sure it would be possible to write a kip or something to automatically patch/ignore that. Or it can be a part of AMS itself.

I feel like atmosphere would not add this on their own just for the piracy angle (i feel like they might do it to enable screenshots and whatnot), but its open source so someone should come up with it down the line.

if not that, a bat-patcher for updates, i assume you have to decrypt the files, hexedit that nacp and then encrypt it all back together? that ought to be automatable

@Clydefrosch Control contains files and after decrypting whole NCA it cannot be encrypted again. You need to unpack NCA, edit correct file and pack files again to NCA with hacpack...
Or make some kind of control_patches :P
