ROM Hack MK8 Deluxe modding

im trying to install some custom skins and such on to my mario kart 8 deluxe on my switch but i cant find the location where mario karts files are placed on my sd card, or if they are even on there to begin with. all my games are installed to my SD card. how do i access the game files to place the modifications?

on your sd card you should be able to go atmosphere>titles>(TITLE OF YOUR GAME)>romfs>mod goes here.....or so im told

however I myself have tried to make mods work from game banana and have had no luck. it'd be pretty cool if someone could spell it out for me or maybe even work with me to trouble shoot what im doing wrong too..

ive tried on all 3 CFW's that i know of which is atmosphere, ReiNX and SXOS and i can't get them to show the mods have been added or the game will just straight up crash.

The path is SdCard\atmosphere\titles\0100152000022000\romfs\
The folders for skins of characters, karts, and courses are, Driver, Kart, and Course, respectively. I get my mods from Gamebanana since most of the mods there are properly named and drag-and-drop friendly.
