Using atmosphere isn't "an issue".
Setting up AMS with sigpatches and other mods can lead to all sorts of issues if you're not an advanced user. The issue is most likely a wrong configuration.
I'm not sure there is a huge difference between people who can unzip kosmos and those who can unzip atmosphere, the sig patches and some homebrew. Certainly it's not something I'd consider as newbie vs advanced user. I've never once configured atmosphere & just use the default, so I can't comment on that.
Other than files in the wrong place, what kind of issues have you experienced?
There's your issue mate! I guess something's messing your setup. The guys of Kosmos thoroughly test their package which uses latest AMS release to make it smooth for users. I'd advise you to give it a go.
I'll try downgrading back to 7.0.1 and using ver. 11.1.1 of Kosmos to see if that might work. I used to always "ignore firmware version" when istalling nps files, but I remember I was having an issue with some newer games. I have re-formatted my SD card, so I doubt that there would be any file mismatch when I try this. Ether way - I'll get back to you tomorrow with my results.
No, that's not true. LOL! If you go to discord and they will explain about Kosmos.. It doesn't mean it will make it smooth. That's false information you are using. Tsk tsk.
So after some fiddling around here is what happened:
I downgraded to 7.0.1 and used Kosmos ver. 11.1.1. I was able to successfully install MK 11 and 1.0.3 (with ignored firmware version option for all files) and launch the game. I was able to successfully open the homebrew launcher from the 'Album' app while MK 11 was suspended (in this version of Kosmos, I think, they still hadn't changed the launch button combo for the hbl to "Hold R + Album" - so you only need to press the Album and it lets you in hbl). From there I opened 'Edizon' and pressed 'Y' to open the cheats menu, but no cheat option appeared. I had already put the '0100F2200C984000' folder in the proper destination - SD/atmosphere/titles/0100F2200C984000/cheats . I also know that Kosmos doesn't have cheat functionality 'ON' by default so I went into the 'system.ini' file and changed this string:
From:
dmnt_cheats_enabled_by_default = u8!0x0
To:
dmnt_cheats_enabled_by_default = u8!0x1
Still no luck. I read on somewhere that update 1.0.3 supposedly broke the initially released cheats (that worked on 1.0.2, for example) so I downloaded and applied "updated" cheats for 1.0.3 from darkumbra, but these ones didn't show up as well.
Everything worked for me on update 1.0.2, but even when I delete the game + save data and install the game with the 1.0.2 update it prompts me for a software update when I try to launch the game on 1.0.2. So if all else has failed, how do I even launch the game on 1.0.2 now?
I don't get what you're going about?

You should reset required fw version w oh th devmenu for it to work.
Those guys only re-pack with sig patches and some apps though as far as I heard? Basically asking for donations based on a bunch of other people's work compiled together.There's your issue mate! I don't know how to do that. Can you explain?

They literally have a patreon for repacking other developers works. Despite claiming the work isn't there's, but still putting that up is rather absurd imo.If you have devmenu installed:
1. Open it and select the game with the dpad
2. Press + and you will see more details
3. Go to manage and press A
4. Go right using Dpad and select "reset required fw version"
5. The game should launch without requiring update

Yes it is basically conveniently repacking homebrews for starters using devs' original github links. They even make disclaimers that it is not their work.
Didn't know about the donations bit though.
I wasn't saying it for myself. More like help troubleshoot such kind of issues. For instance when 8 dropped and AMS updated for it, themes were breaking CFW. Usually many are using packages from someone or some place. But with Kosmos you get what's best in terms of CFW (updated AMS build + latest homebrew apps). They won't include or release anything that breaks the CFW. See? OP got his issue solved with Kosmos.
But someone who wants themes will install them in atmosphere or Kosmos and will both suffer the same problem.
And reinstalling atmosphere without anything other than sigpatches would be even cleaner than all the Kosmos bloat & should have worked too.
So no I don't see what you're saying, other than some religious thing.

i try also reinx 2.21 but it crash, I noticed that the games installed using tinfoil with fw 6.2 do not crash (I only have two on the internal memory) those installed now all crash. I can't understand what it may depend oni've had this issue since last year after the 6.0 partial support from ReiNX 1.6.
while having a game suspended (or even playing and exiting the game) and trying to access hbmenu, the Switch crashes and becomes unresponsive.
accessing hbmenu without starting a game prior, worked fine.
This thread is 2 months old. Please don't post in super old threads... Atmosphere is by now at version 0.9.2
