I have a r4isdhc.com cart and it works fine, but I don't really like how YSMenu looks, and when you have a lot of roms its pretty slow to scroll. The offical kernel looks awfully similar to the DSTT kernel, and looking through the files of the offical kernel and RGF's kernel, it seems it is just a plain old DSTT clone. This should mean I can run any kernel a DSTT can as long as I have the proper patch, right? The problem is that I don't know how to do the patch. I've found how to manually patch YSMenu to work as the R4.dat by doing a little hex editing, but I cannot get this to work on any other menu, for example MenuDO or a custom Wood DSTT. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this? Do I need to DLDI patch the rom? If so, where can I get the DLDI, is it like the DSTT where I should use ttextract.exe to get it (which I can't find a working link for)?

I noticed that sometimes when my card does not like a R4.dat that I have tried, it sets the file to 0 bytes. Is this normal of the DSTT or is it a R4iSDHC thing?

Only alternative is the official fw or buy a non shitty Chinese clone like

Does this one accept any kernel, for example Wood? And I don’t see why its not possible, it just needs the proper patch, I wanted to know if anyone had somewhere for me to start looking because RetroGameFan isnt active last I heard.

The one linked is officially supported by Wood R4

I have spent weeks trying to find the best firmware for this card. So far, I have managed to get Dscovered, menudo, and ysmenu to work. All have their drawbacks. Dscovered in my favorite but it only works with up to 100 games. Menudo also crashes after a certain amount of roms.

Currently, I'm using the stock firmware with moonshell to load games. This is the only option I've found to have more than 100 rooms at a time. TwiLightMenu would be the gold standard for these cards if it were to ever support ysmenu as a loader instead of ntr-bootstrap.

Can I assume that I can upload these firmware files here for people to use? I know yasu used to throw a fit when ysmenu files was uploaded but all the things I mentioned above have been unsupported for nearly a decade.
