Unofficial: Alien vs. Predator Gold - Switch Edition

220px-AvP1.jpg

This is an unofficial Nintendo Switch port of the Fox Interactive / Rebellion Developments game, Aliens Versus Predator Gold.

Note: Requires the full game (AvP Gold or AvP 2000), both GOG or Steam work.

If you use AvP 2000, go there https://icculus.org/avp/files/etc/ and download english.txt, rename it to language.txt and put it with the assets into the same Folder as the NRO.

A correct setup will look like this:

All folders (but FMVs) must be lower case, also every file in every dir must be lower case.
"+" is Escape, "-" is Enter

Strafing sucks balls so I currently only enabled it for not Alien.
This is the first iteration, expect bugs.

Don't forget to map joycon controls in the options, else you will not be able to do much ingame, also it currently renders in 1080p, so handheld text will look small.

Known bugs:
- Profile sometimes doesn't want to load properly, load another profile, then use the change profile option and it should work
- Exit Game does not work
- Some stuff requires keyboard input (for example gamma control, works via docked or USB OTG), but the game can be played without it! Swkbd support is planned when I find time.

Tim Beckmann, various code cleanup fixes
Chuck Mason, initial OpenAL implementation

Thanks to @fgsfdsfgs for the OpenAL port, also thanks to @cpasjuste for his SDL port and of course Rebellion for releasing the Sourcecode for non commercial usage!

Checking the other .bik files in FMVs folder... do they actually put the BGMs into black FMVs with only audio?

Good port! for a Classic game even unofficial, this is great progress for the homebrew switch scene, Thanks a lot and well appreciated!, proud that there is always hope to continue expanding the scene, you're greatness!

Does Lan play work?

Code:
Previously missing features are still missing. Multiplayer, movies, etc.

Well that explains it @cucholix , but it def. tries to play them. Seems the bik system wasnt initialized but that didnt fix it, maybe our ffmpeg build is missing the codec, will check that out.

i dont undersatn is this an nsp or xci file or an unreleased game for switch ?

Read the topic ? Unofficial which mean its home-brew games. I have been playing this game on PS3.. Absolutely loved it but I will pass on this one, thought. Thanks anyway.

Already looked at that, it's a bitch to port, but could be possible.
Got my hopes up. :D It even was a bitch to run (natively) on some computers back then but it's my fav Q3E game (and maybe my fav SW game as well). :)
