I wouldn't update, there is so much backlog available, and VR works on it, the switch scene is kind of overrated, while it is progressing at a much faster rate, it still has a long way to go, the only thing switch scene really has going for it over ps4 right now is that the mod is pretty much guaranteed to work on all future firmwares, and its portability.

I personally have all current and last gen systems (just got my switch) and I would suggest an xbox one for online play and newer games, they are very cheap now, and with gold, game pass, and free games you will have more games than you can handle without ever having to buy a retail copy, its the system in my collection that gets the most use, and the switch will likely get used a lot because of the portability, while my modded ps4 is the lease used, which is fine with me, since I just wanted to play and archive the exclusive, and remasters.

I have a ps4 CFW. I mostly use it to play video games that I will buy later when they are discounted (yes I pirated my games and buy the games later during discount). homebrews are not that exciting (yet). I kinda hoped someone will port retroarch, but it seems technically impossible. I am planning to buy another PS4 to catch up with the latest games as soon as I finished all my backlog.

Switch's scene is way better than PS4, thanks to paid service like TX you don't have to jerk hackers ego off to get a little to none info.

That's kind of true, just saying there isn't a whole lot going on there but piracy too, it does have emulations but n64 and ps1 are not even fully working while we have good ps2 emulation on ps4 right now, also from what I gathered the free cfw makers wont implement features like xci, and usbloader support because "they are against piracy" (at least that is what i understand, could be they just havent figured out those features and executor is really just ahead of the curve) which is lame since those features are still useful without piracy, and piracy is still possible using there cfw via nsp, so it really makes no sense

Im pretty sure if executor had something to offer the ps4 scene others are not they wouldn't hesitate to charge for it.

I just dont really get the switch homebrew hype, what does it really have that ps4 or many other console don't, or havent already done? ps4 has been able to do linux practically since its release, you can do snes emulation on xbox one via dev mode. It has a lot of potential because its portable and theoretically the hack will work on all future firmwares, but it still has a long way to go to reach it.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
