Hi guys, i just bought a switch today, and it falls into "XAW700179X and above not safe to buy, possibly patched". Since ive seen the posts about 6.2.0 just got cracked, is it worth keeping it for the moment? or should i just return it, cause i can just get a refund from the store. The only reason i bought it, its cause its on sale. cheers!

Serial: XAW700262
Region:AUS
Firmware:5.1.0
Color option:Neon
Store:Big W
Was a bundle (if yes, which):No
Purchase date:23/11/2018
Fusée Gelée works:not sure

Would have been best to ask about this in the dedicated thread, but since this is here

Your Switch may be hackable, the only way to tell is to try. You should attempt to run Fusée Gelée on it, and if not then returning it seems to be in your best interests.

Even if there is a workaround for the 6.2 key generation, it won't fix the hardware being patched. If you bought one of the black friday bundles, I can guarantee you it doesn't work.

If you can return it and get another one, do that. If you can’t (or cant find an unpatched system), leave it on whatever firmware it came with and wait

I just bought a switch today from Best buy, they had some old stock out on the floor so I was able to look for an exploitable one. Good luck!!

fusee payload? sorry im still new to this. i'll have a read through the forums. cheers

oh, sorry! the staple for switch homebrew at the moment is an exploit in the switch's RCM (recovery mode), which is utilized by sending payloads (they can be referred to as fusee gelee payloads as that is one of the names for this exploit) through the switch's usb-c port. this should be enough info to get you started.
