Will updating the firmware from 4.1.0 make it less likely I'll be able to hack in the future just got a switch and its ipatched I could send it back and get the Mario odyssey edition but that's £80 difference, I know there's no ETA on ipatched hack but anyone get a sense if it might see light this year ?

Yes especially because the latest firmware is 6.2 which is incompatible with any CFW and shows no signs of being compatible anytime soon. If you want to preserved any chances of being able to hack an ipatched unit, do not update its firmware whatsoever.

There's no eta on the warmboot exploit for 4.1 but it's there It may be useable on higher firmwares with some extra work (again no eta). It'd probably be best to try and buy a used switch on black friday if you're wanting to make the update.

are all the Mario odyssey edition switch's non Ipatched ?

Once you've used a warmboot are you stuck with 4.1.0 I have an microSDXC that needs a higher firmware to be useable

It doesn't need an higher FW. It needs the exFAT driver, which you can't install without updating cause no hacks on ipatched

but you can still use the SD card in the meantime if you format it to FAT32.

Once a warmboot exploit is released for 4.1.0 you'll have the access to homebrew and should be able to install the 4.1.0. exFAT update using ChoiduhourNX.
