Since we got custom themes working on switch we have been stuck on a major issue: home menu's SZS files are illegal to share because they contain copyrighted data.
This is the reason why I developed the nxtheme format: it's a custom container for switch themes that's 100% legal and that works on every firmware.
Use this thread to post your own custom themes, if you have any question ask in the Switch theme injector release thread.

TLDR; Now themes are nxtheme files, they can be installed with NxThemes Installer on any switch. nxtheme files are legal and can be shared here. DO NOT SHARE THE SZS FILES.

How to share custom themes:
1) Make a theme like you normally would
2) Click "build nxtheme" instead of "patch and save"
3) Post the output nxtheme here.
That's it. As you can see the process has been totally reworked and this time it's much easier for end users.

How to install custom themes:
1) Download NXThemes installer on your switch (it's also available on the homebrew appstore)
2) Copy the nxtheme file in the themes folder on your sd
4) Install the theme and reboot

You may also find links like the ones below, those are Auto-Theme links, it's the old way of sharing themes, when you open them it will automatically download nxtheme files you can install.

I have one request though (I hope I'm not asking for too much)...Could you please make a GBATemp theme .dds file with the logo lower, since I would like to apply a layout with a row of icons on the top (similar to the screenshot below)? Don't want the icons overlapping the logo...Thx a ton!

I don't have that layout also i think i deleted the original images i used for the theme. You could get the dds and shift everything down then fill the blank on the top with a solid color that doesn't look bad with the gradient, if you use the windows version of the injector you can just use paint as it supports jpg and png images as well.

Actually I didn't make that layout...I got it off of a theme a certain Chinese user posted on the Qcean Discord.

Okay so I made an update to my theme from yesterday on the Qcean Discord, and I decided to post it here too, to include all pages which I frequently use: Game screen, all games page, settings and lockscreen.

Tools I used:
Photoshop
Switch online theme injector https://exelix11.github.io/SwitchThemeInjector/

Usage:
Grab the PNG's you need from the second IMGUR album, and go to the website mentioned above.
Open your ResidentMenu.szs and choose the "Two rows home by zaigenshi" at the custom layout field.
Do this only for the resident menu of course. All other menus are untouched by layout changes.

im having a bit of trouble getting themes to work on sxos (recently made the transfer from atmosphere). when i copy my titles folder with everything in it to the sxos folder, when i boot into cfw i get an error and im forced to restart. can anyone help me that uses sxos themes

Sounds like you're using a theme for the wrong firmware, search one compatible with your current one

Havent updated since 4.1. its currently working on atmosphere but not in sxos... im on 6.0.1

EDIT: i created my own themes using 6.0.1 files

EDIT2: im retarded, i simply copying from atmoshpere to sxox without deleting the .ini created... once i deleted that, it works again.

Was getting this error a lot. Had to dump the master_key_6 before it would work
