NEWS UPDATED: Dec. 20th / TX and their [WAIN] friends are back with another update to the cartridge dumper app!
SXD_103.jpg

Another hard-working day at TX headquarters and yet another release, this time around just small update to their SX Dumper app. :)
Another day, another update from your Xecuter team.

This time it is SX Dumper which goes to v1.0.3 with a new function to dump cert only.

1.0.3 Change log:
  • Add option for cert only dumping output:
    Selected folder/certificates/gamename [cert crc32].cert
  • Various stability fixes and lib upgrades
(As usual, please remember all our latest releases & apps, can be found on our sx.xecuter.com portal website)
(What follows below is the last few announcements regarding the SX Dumper from TX, click the 'Spoiler' to see the previous details in full.)
SX Dumper continues to get feedback from our SX OS users!

And [WAIN] continues to return the thanks for all the feedback we received, by releasing another small update.

Enjoy!

1.0.2
  • fixed splitting no longer hang on after 2gb.
SX Dumper was a hit as soon as it was published and thanks to all the feedback we received, [WAIN] was still on fire and updated it right away.

Enjoy! :)

1.0.1
  • Keep console awake no more button presses while dumping!
  • fixed bug with detecting cart too quickly.
  • folder selection ("Root" ,"/sxos/xci/" , "/sxos/games/")
  • UI adjustments for left stick navigation instead of left up down right for options
  • Changed to Titleid.xci for Japanese,Chinese,Korean,Taiwanese
Today, we are back with the help of our friends [WAIN] who developed a very useful app for SX OS: the SX Dumper!

As the name indicates it, this app will allow you to dump an original game to your microSD card or USB HDD and then play directly with your backup without the need of the original game anymore. This version 1.0.0 is already packed with features, and we are already working on the next update(s) to bring you an even smoother experience.

SX Dumper v1.0.0
  • Dump to .XCI
  • Automatically filenaming (full gamename.xci)
  • USB HDD & microSD Card support
  • Trimmed dumping (removed unused space from backup)
  • Certificate wiping
  • Splitting files for FAT32 filesystem
  • CRC checking dumped image

Wait. WAINCartDumper already has a GUI. What's the point of this app?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So you're saying USB loading and xci support are not enough reasons to buy this?
Yes.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If it wasn't for USB HDD support they'd be no reason to buy SX OS.

I can use NSPs.
EmuNAND just takes space for me, cause I am constantly online and no ban to this date.
USB would be nice if I could install NSPs to it.

XCI would be completely obsolete if it wasn't for the USB HDD feature,
The """"EmuNAND"""" feature isn't proper EmuNAND. That has been proven over and over again and it's scummy business practices to get people to use their OS.

Pretty sure your losing your logic defending them buddy. If you don't know what I'm talking about I'd advise you to go look at Hexkyz's Twitter or a few other threads on GBAtemp exposing them.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also you've mentioned XCI loading twice. So are you running out of ideas?

some people should look for something useful to do, like wash some dishes

this is a thread of a tx product.

if you don't like it, if you don't like tx, their modus operandi, whatever, you could simply ignore it, go waste your precious time with something useful for you and others.

but it seems that some people can't help whining and hating

Whilst happy that they've paid and credited someone. I'm concerned. Are they that inexperienced that they can't program their own cart dumper?
Or they, y'know, pluck up good talent and give them paid work.

The EmuNAND *is* "real" EmuNAND. You're buying into the original FUD thread that was disproved, over and over again.

I wasn't whining and hating at first. I was praising them for giving credit and paying the creator. But expressing concern that they paid someone because they couldn't do it themselves. A TX fanboy took that as hate though and started getting triggered.

Same can be said for why they didn't use sys-cheatnet and made their own. As for EmuNAND:

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

TL;DR it isn't real EmuNAND. It's a copy and paste hack job of the NAND. (taken from one of Hexkyz's replys.)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I will not be responding further as I don't want to be warned further for flooding a thread.

It is a true emunand but it is easily detectable by Nintendo. It is a partitioned Horizon using half of the device storage. The whole point of running emunand is to not be detected. It is pointless.

But they can easily detect the microsd card too. It's no more or no less "detectable" than using the microsd card.

There are other usages besides your own:
Fact 1 - I personally don't like or use AutoRCM. It is a choice as I don't want to worry about running out of battery and risk the semi-brick state that this can lead to
Fact 2 - My switch is still on OFW 4.1.0 as I'm holding it there for potential future exploit that may lead to warmboot or even coldboot CFW.
Fact 3 - My switch was NEVER connected to the internet or intranet. I use it for the sole purpose of offline gaming.

With SXOS EmuNAND implementation, I manage to keep my console in the exact state from which it came out of the box, still on 4.1.0, no burnt fuses and running the latest 6.1.0 (currently) to enjoy games with recent encryption keys. On top of that, reverting my console to the original state can be done with a simple factory reset from within HorizonOS on 4.1.0 OFW. 1 reboot, settings, reset, done! So you see, it's not pointless. It's just another use-case.

The majority of the people that complain about SX EmuNAND are just sad because they want to be able to play online on OFW and later on, swap the SDCARD and enjoy the hacked version. It would be great if the option is available in the future, but for now, this is better than nothing and it's solving a use-case that was only possible before by resorting to a combination of AutoRCM and fuseless burning upgrades.

One may argue about the free alternatives and how AutoRCM poses a real risk or not. But like any other piece of software, it's up to the user to understand the real value of it.

In terms of this dumper, I do agree that it should be a separate app as I don't see it as an integral part of a CFW and more of a tool. Assuming that TX contacted WAIN and he/she agreed, why would TX write everything from scratch? If WAIN really used his project as a base for this SX skin, regardless of being paid or not, it's up to the developer. I'm glad we have options. We can either go to the more hardcore command line tools, to the services or apps running on the switch, or even these very convenient UI apps. It's up to you to choose the software you'll use.

They deliver the stuff. TX just grabs the same stuff and puts it to the boot.dat or what are they using.
Also, go get angry somewhere else.
TX deliver the best overall package for the Switch in terms of usability. End-consumes couldn't care less where the origin lies, as long as they can get the best experience that is currently available to them.

"Smartphones" existed for a long time, and then Apple released the best overall package back in 2007. Operating systems existed for a long time, and then Microsoft released the best overall package (or do you hear someone praising Xerox for the revolutionary GUI?). Gaming handhelds existed for quite some time, and then Nintendo delivered the best overall package.

It's all about the big picture, and TX is beyond doubt the leader if it comes to the Switch "CFW". It doesn't matter how much you hate or love something, how much you may disagree with someones methods and practices, facts are still facts. SX Pro is as of now the best CFW/HB/piracy solution for the Nintendo Switch, software- and especially "hardware"-wise. Period.

Hopefully they have a xci to nsp conversion available. NSP is the superior format if you ask me.
In that case, if we always would as you, we would live in a world full of false statements. NSP is far, faaaar, faaaaaaar away from being the superior format.
