I have been working with my switch for around 8 hours now.
I'm trying to get exfat support while using Reinx and im on 5.1.0

All the guides to add it aren't working.
Is 5.1 the firmware that is supposed to have exfat support?

gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-add-exfat-support-to-the-switch-console-on-any-ofw-without-update.505182/page-8

i follow the above guide and get stuck at the last step. parcheador create the bcpkg2 file with any of the 5.1 games i've tried. i also tried using a 5.1.0 download but cant seem to figure out how to get it into an xci file.

Sorry for being all over and i really have tried searching and reading to figure this out. If someone can help me figure out what im doing wrong to get exfat working it would save my sanity.

if youre on cfw wither atmosphere/reinx just install ChoiDujourNX then find the firmware files for 5.1.0 and install. check mark the option for exfat support.

Use ChoiDojourNX and add the exfat support, you can find the files for the 5.1.0 firmware. Also you can do pretty much anything with fat32 now, so the exfat support is not really necesary.

I was doing it for the reason that alot of my games are more than 4gb. is there another way to get them on my memory card?

Also i have the 5.1 update downloaded. how to i convert it into xci format in order to use choidojournx?

Yes. if it's an XCI, you can use XCI-cutter.
If it is an NSP you can use NSP splitter.

Just put the files for the 5.1 update on your sd card, then go to ChoiDojourNX and select the files.

Going to give both of those things a try.
Thanks so much for direction.

Actually you have to download the firmware 5.1 version for your Switch. Try googling it. Extract in on your SD card (a Fat32 one if you like).
Then you need to use the homebrew Choixdujour to install it. It is pretty straightforward. Just head over to thread of the homebrew.
