How to backup game carts.

In this guide I will show you how to backup games for Team Xecuter's SX PRO or SX OS mods.

1.Download https://github.com/DarkMatterCore/gcdumptool/releases
2.Place the nro file into the Switch directory on the SD card for the Nintendo Switch
3.Insert the SD card to the nintendo switch.
4.Load up the SX OS via either the SX PRO or SX OS via pc software.
5.Open up the album app
6.Goto the "HOMEBREW" section in the TX menu.
7.enter the gccartdump tool
8.Goto "Full XCI Dump"
9.If you have a console with a firmware that does not support exFat please select the "Split output dump (Fat32 Support)"
10.If you would like the file (XCI) trimmed please select that option as well
11.Select "Start XCI dump Process"
12.This can take a bit of time depending on the size of the game.
13.After the game has been dumped hit the home button
14. Open the album once again and select the game that has been dumped. (make sure you take out the game cart)
15. Play the game!

I hope this helps out some people!

I think this is well known around the community man. But I guess for new people it's good
yeah i know, i was talking on the ReiSwitched server and people where saying that there was no real guide for doing it so i made this not sure if it will be useful or not but whatever i just hope this helps people.

That's an elaborate way of saying "use gcdumptool to dump cartridges to XCI."
Also I can see your user name; you don't need to remind me.
lol, and this was a full guide not just how to use it because it showed where to download, how to install it what to do to run it the features etc so i think it is pretty good :)

Some friendly advice:
  • .XCI files can be used for all CFW so only including instructions for usage with SX OS is questionable to say the least
  • It actually doesn't even work on all versions of SX OS if you check out the gcdumptool thread
  • You make the assumption that a user has properly setup SX OS beforehand which may not always be the case
  • As others have stated before, a picture can tell a thousand words while multiple pictures can make a good tutorial
  • While I'm not one to question the intentions of someone making a tutorial for the good of the community, not providing even spacing, following proper capitalization, or even misspelling the name of the app in step 6, it doesn't make it seem like a tutorial that should be taken seriously
  • Maybe include a troubleshooting or FAQ section for common mistakes/errors?

Nice detailed tutorial.
Actually the game should be renamed before playing it in case you would like to dump another cart. The homebrew names it game.xci by default IRC.

Look how immediately hostile people get to this well intentioned little guide simply because he mentions TX OS. Sad.

Not just mentioning TX OS though is it, the whole "guide" if you can call it that is orientated solely around TX OS, nothing else to it, there's already plenty of info out there on how to do this too.
