Hacking SX Pro Dongle Dead

So last night I couldnt boot into SX-OS, the green light that is usually on is on, but just black screen at RCM.

The dongle itself got reallly hot, I googled it, so let it sit for awhile, try charging using the small skinny cable to computer but nothing.. no light no payload

I never really had to charge the dongle btw


So i do have multiple SD_cards with os written on it, whats my first step I should do? Anyone had this happen to them?

that will work just fine, or order the R4S Dongle. or make your own from a trinket M0 if you want to go internal and never have to worry about charging it again. involves opening your system and soldering to a few pads on the board. link to trinket tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/interna...ybitsy-m0-express-guide-files-support.508068/

Can you still send a payload from your PC? Your switch may have gone flat

Switch is fine, i can boot into horizon after holding the power down, once i shut off and go into RCM mode with voluem up and pwer, it stays black awating the payload.

xecuter has their new dongle without serial code ready soon but for the time being, is there a program to use with phone or pc that I can use in hand with the sdcard i have on the switch with the serial code?

If you have android phone you can use this option,

Using NX-Loader app to push the payload from your phone effectively replacing the need for the dongle.

Or you can the Xecuter skinned version:

Have you tried emailing them? Tx and the reseller? One of them (probably tx) will hopefully be willing to take it back or give you a new one after showing proof of destruction

Oh awesome. Luckily bbn I have a few OTG adapter from my samsung with USB c adapter. Maybe use a tablet with micro USB and use the adapter on switch.

Not yet I'm not really in a hurry and figured I can find a quicker way while I get it sorted.

I used switchsx.com. I'll update on what happens on this thread.

At this point. I may forgo getting a new one as I can easily teach my kid to do this off his android tablet.

I'll check tomorrow if I am able to return the overheated usbc dongle

I did Buria. Once it got extremely hot, it did not charge or light up at all when plugged into pc with skinny/tiny cable as TX tells you to do after waiting awhile (i did an hour, then overnight)

I can assure you the usb c loader is dead.

I tried to look but, I think switchsx.com the place I ordered from is now gone and in its plave is switchsxusa or something different

but I am good. Pretty happy with the android phone payload method. On a good week, i had to use the dongle like once. maybe twice.

My android payload doesnt work anymore.

The only recent change was I vmbought brand new joy cons.

I used two type os cables three different android phones.

It may be a bad otc cable bit I get the connection noise and able to change from charging to transfer and vice versa.

It may be a bad device driver on the android platform? An update from controllers?

Strange.


I currently now use

To inject.

Make sure you go to settings tab and install rcm driver and load the sx payload.
