Hello everyone,

(I tried to google this solution myself but most posts were from 2014-2015 with older versions)

This may be a noob question. I have been owning my modded 3DS for a few months. I was not the one who modded it.

I was wanting access to Pokemon Bank (the legit version). I have been using it on my 3DS basically since it came out. Well, I have not updated to 11.8 and I know the dangers of doing so. I do not play online, but really don't want to get banned.

I was wanting access to this pokemon bank again, but problem is it's on my 11.7 modded 3ds. Well I got a 2ds that I don't care much about.

I was wanting to do a system transfer from this 11.7 modded 3ds to the normal 11.7 2ds. I don't care about updating the 2ds to 11.8. I was wanting to have access to my Pokemon on Pokemon bank on that one. It's the only game I really mostly enjoy.

Well question is how can I bypass updating my modded 3ds to 11.8 and completing the system transfer to this non-modded 2ds?

Thanks in advance.

I dont think thats going to happen. The transfer checks nintys servers to see if its able to do the transfer. And that process is not something that can be bypassed.

You can update the system if you want to skip the whole system transfer, even if you did the system transfer you still have to jump through hoop to get all the cia you installed back on the new system.

Thanks Lone_Wolf and Hayato for your help so far. It sucks that I may just have to lose the Pokemon in my bank, due to Nintendo's archaic ways of transferring accounts on systems.

I guess it's not worth updating to 11.8 (so far) in my reasoning, but then I don't play online anyways with games and the 3DS lifespan is over. I don't plan on buying anything from the eShop either.

Why dont you ever use the homebrew pokebank? You can backup the pokes and not worry about losing them that way

I may go ahead and use it (that may actually be a good idea). I guess I never did because I ignorantly assumed that Nintendo was done with the 3DS and moved on to the Switch, trying to do anti-piracy measures on that, but I was wrong.

Another reason was that if something happened to the 3DS, then the pokemon are gone, but the thought JUST came up that it would had been the same whether they were backed up online or not due to how Nintendo just does things.

I'll give it a little more thought before I update the system.
