Homebrew Question Would PS2 emulation ever be possible on the switch?

I wouldn't bet on it being any time soon or near future, My best advice to you if you want to play that game, would be to buy a PS2 for $10-20 get yourself a 500gb HD and put Free MC boot on there and get some Backups on it.

Yeah I think the best we can hope for (as its nintendo) is a half decent N64 Emulator for Virtual Console Releases (Finally/Hopefully)

maybe PSX? and all the 8-16bit hopefully all with 2 player Support That would be awesome !!

You can put anything you want on any platform you want, but is it going to be playable? Most likely not. If nobody wants to work on ARM JIT for PCSX2, there's probably no one wanting to port emulator to Switch.

In theory it is possible, I was capable of playing a couple different ps2 games on android with decent frame rates using a ps2 emulator.

What are you referring to as being open source ?
Regardless of anything being open source it still does not mean you will be able to emulate PS2 at happy frame rates.

DamonPS2 . You are correct, Damon had a takedown notice . But you are allowed to use the PCSX licenses with permission .Obviously , they never had it

That's not the point, the point is that emulating ps2 on the switch hardware is very much possible. With optimization it might run with decent fps on the switch

Yes you can emulate PS2 on Switch with low FPS, low compatibility, or low battery runtime.

Anything can do emulation of any system as long as you have resources

Switch is easily powerful enough, The important factor is how good the emulator is, I'm sure we will see some rubbish 0 to 2 fps emulation within a year. If a team of developers decides they really want to create a good ps2 emulator, I think we could see full speed emulation of some games on switch.

I think it’s possible. If we get that version of android os I think it’s called (damon pro ps2) because that’s emu is compatible with ARM devices. Unfortunately there’s no version of pcsx2 for ARM devices because it is very amazing ps2 emu
