SEGA recreates old-school commercial trailer for Sonic Mania Plus

Back in the 1990s, SEGA had a mock-infomercial comparing the newly released Sonic 1 to Super Mario World. Now, more than 20 years later, they've gone and re-created the same idea for the upcoming Sonic Mania Plus. This time, the video jokingly compares Sonic Mania against a generic shooter game, instead of a Nintendo product, but it still shows the customer being enamored with a Sonic game. When Mania initially launched, another joke infomercial was done by SEGA, as they spoofed their classic Sonic 2 commercial to announce the limited edition of Mania.

Haha, love it! Completed encore mode already and I must say it's well worth the price they're asking (something like $5 for the DLC version).
I've purchased the game on every platform but PS4, now. No regrets. I really wanted that physical box to put next to Sonic 1/2/3/K so I had to re-buy it again.

I only purchased the physical copy for the box and art book (and to support the game) :P I don't want to have to put the disc in every time I play it so I'll just buy the digital DLC!

I just started playing about 15 minutes ago, it's amazing and I'm really happy it was made.
Sonic 4 was such a let down and this is fantastic!

A nicely done remake of the original.
It's quite longer than the original was and that other game is laughably horrible looking.
Still pretty entertaining.

Now I just wish I could get the box to go with PC version. (and Denuvo the DRM the original character was removed >.>)
I might wait to pick up a physical copy on discount for a switch just for the sake of it.

Missed opportunity to not put a real, but inferior, game as a comparison, like NSMB or even, dare I say it, Sonic Forces. Still rad, though.

Heh, I remember watching the original ad on YouTube a while back. I like how SEGA is going all-out on the references with this game.

It would've been extremely risky to do that with Sonic Forces, and I'm not sure Sonic Team would be the fondest of the ad. It would have been pretty hilarious to watch, though.
