Ok, so I'm asking for a friend here, so here's the problem we're facing.

I had my friend set up with Homebrew not so long ago, but she foolishly ignored my advice not to update to 11.4 and did so anyway.

All she wants to do is edit pokemon in Sun and Moon, but currently all she has access to is Powersaves and PKHex. The problem is the backup saves made by Powersaves are not compatible with PKHex. I was wondering if there is a converter that will allow them to work with PKHex. I saw one converter that would work to an extent, but there was no way to convert the save back to allow her to import the save back through Powersaves.

If anyone has any suggestions for a save converter that might work, I would be extremely grateful!

If she has homebrew (and she's not on o3ds) just let her use JKSM or PKSM and the job is done.
The restore a powersave backup and then take the save file with JKSM and edit it with PKHex or use PKSM directly. Where's the deal?

The problem is, she HAD Homebrew, but then she updated to 11.4. She is using an Old3DS without CFW so she can't access Homebrew anymore since there is no payload for 11.4 that works with Old3DS right now.

Oh well then.. I'm sorry for your friend but she can only use powersaves I guess.
If she has a physical cartridge you can edit pokèmons for her and then give it back, that's the only solution for the moment :/

Unfortunately I'm not actual near her to be able to edit them for her. The best I can do is have her trade me her pokemon, edit them and then trade them back.

I was hoping someone might have a save converter that could decrypt Powersaves .bin saves into .sav or .main files she could use in PKHex and then convert the save back to .bin so she could import it back through Powersaves herself.

Thanks for trying to help, but I'm still holding out hope that someone may know of a program that can meet her needs.

Okay I searched around and this is possible but only with an hacked 3ds :/
Quoting from a reddit comment: "You won't be able to re-inject it unless you can completely decrypt it (which, if your 3DS isn't hacked and is up-to-date, is impossible). If you have a hacked 3DS, you can theoretically do it yes, and I've done it myself, but if you have a hacked 3DS and can therefore re-inject a save, there are easier ways to export it that aren't Powersaves.

Also, if you don't know what hex editing is nor how to do it (the whole thing about replacing the bytes), I recommend just not touching it, or go learn stuff about hexadecimal if you really want to."

*sigh* I was afraid of that.

Yeah she doesn't have a hacked 3DS and neither of us have much experience with Hex editing.

I told her not to update, but I guess she was just impatient and freaked out then she couldnt use the online functions.

It's wierd tho, because I've had at least 3 people today tell me they couldn't go online in Sun/Moon while on 11.3 and yet, I'm having no such problems.

I'm thinking nintendo may be issuing out a serverside update that just hasn't reached me yet.

Luckily I already have CFW, so I'm in the clear. I just wish she would have waited to contact me before updating. CTR-HTTPwn could have saved her the trouble.

Does she have a N3DS? If so, tell her to do doodlebomb. You can setup doodlebomb on your 3DS because you already have CFW and thus can send her a doodlebomb letter, which she in turn can use as a 11.4 HBL entrypoint. Check out doodlebomb here: https://mrnbayoh.github.io/doodlebomb/

With having a 11.4 HBL entrypoint, she could then use JKSM or PKSM to edit her saves, or just use JKSM, move them to her PC, send them to you and then let you edit them in case she doesn't know how. Also, tell her to NOT UPDATE beyond 11.4, there will maybe be a new method to get CFW on it at some point, so i highly recommend you to tell her not to update and just wait instead.

So... it's looking like she's out of luck.

There is one other option she wanted me to ask about so here goes.

Is there any way to make a save backup made through JKSV capable of being imported through Powersaves?

Considering there seemed to be no way of coverting Powersave backups to sav or main files, I doubt there is a way to convert them into bin files either, but it never hurts to ask, right?

To answer each of your lines.
Basically

You would need to have home-brew to use JKSV, which at that point, you could just export and import all you want.
Correct

Hello, I am new to this forum. For Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there is a way to decrypt PowerSaves .BIN backups into decrypted .SAV files that can be read by PKHeX. The process is documented here:

projectpokemon DOT org SLASH home SLASH forums SLASH topic SLASH 29260-x-y-save-file-research SLASH ?page=3&tab=comments#comment-169067

This method cannot, however, be used to re-encrypt/inject PKHeX-edited save files back into your game cart (although I am currently trying to figure out a way to do so via the R4i Save Dongle). It is still useful for viewing the contents of your game save without having to hack your 3DS.

Now, the procedure mentioned in the link above does not seem to work on Pokémon Sun or Moon (and I don't have access to Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon), and so far I have not found an alternate way to decrypt a Sun/Moon game save or, at least, extract its XORpad or XOR keystream (as I did with X, Y, OR, and AS). Whenever I follow the same strategy used for X/Y/OR/AS and reach the point of applying a x900 Item Modifier Code (or any other random code) with PowerSaves, the PowerSaves server processor gives me an error:

"An error occurred processing your Game File."

So I cannot make the XORpad for Sun/Moon using this technique.

And the 3DSaveTool application provided by the R4i Save Dongle makers (which claims to be able to decrypt 3DS game saves) does not work for me, since PKHeX rejects both any 3DS .SAV file extracted with the R4i dongle and any .SAV file "decrypted" by R4i's 3DSaveTool.exe, so R4i doesn't help me here either. (It still lets me modify my old DS games Pokémon Platinum, SoulSilver, White, and White 2.)

And no, I don't really trust homebrew firmware so any techniques requiring a hacked 3DS are out of question for me.
