Hello,
I am willing to buy a Switch and I'm looking for a free way to play downloaded games. I'm very new to this, I have read many threads on here, but they are advanced to me: Hekate, Fusee, SX, Atmosphere.. Etc I am not sure what most of the mean.

My understanding that the only working option is SX, but I don't wanna spend $ on the USB especially that I understood that it is something I should do every time I turn off the switch.

Thanks

look for a tutorial with layeredFS.
There is no free easy solution right now.

If you really want to play backups, SX OS is the best choice.

Also you need to "hack" (enter RCM Mode) the switch each time you reboot. This is not exclusive for SX OS, you also have to it, when you want to use other tools.
But fortunately you do not have to power off your switch. Just stay in Sleep mode and your fine.

Do you think that I will get a notification from my internet provider for downloading them? Also would appreciate if you could share "the site" in private if possible, I'm new don't know much of this.
It is against the rules to ask for that type of information, PM or otherwise so I would ask that you refrain from doing so. Anyways, to answer your original question, there is no simple and free way to run backups compared to SX OS, but this is the best we have so far: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-use-layeredfs-for-backup-loading-what-games-work-dont.507510/

Probably not but, if you are that worried about it get a VPN. Private internet access is pretty reputable.
