Brick code doesn't sound very friendly, but I don't really care because it only affects those trying to crack their software.

not surprised, although I would hope they have a backdoor recovery just incase we have another case of people being caught in the crossfire, I guess xecuter flinched on their confidence in DRM

on a more technical note though, anyone know if the emmc uses any emmc specific identifiers during encryption, or if you could just buy a replacement emmc module and restore a backup, or maybe even do a force erase like what we did with the 3DS and restore a previous backup

AFAIK eMMC NAND is not married to the board or something, so you could just buy a new one for 20 bucks.

Can't you just pull the emmc and reflash it in a programmer?
yeah I'm assuming the same as with the 3DS you could at least do a force erase assuming you have a valid backup to restore once done, you could probably even use the same software to do it.....I do tiny soldering guis

I said they might have a brick in the code, but of course their drone followers came out in their defense. I wouldn't use anything of there's, even for free.

By the way, you can {edit, 'probably'} guarantee that 'free homebrew' was TRAP! Lmfao :rofl2: That was, more than likely, given to you incase SX gets hacked and they can fry your Switch with the code if you download and use it. A foundation. Probably, no point in deleting it, now. It could leave something behind. If you haven't, don't touch it. Of course, no one's going to listen to that either.

The Switch is a very sensitive device. Being able to be fried by code/s makes it more fragile than the average. You better hope nothing goes off on accident, even if you paid for it. Tick tock...
