Hacking Show us your Jig!

Here's the jig I ordered. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Nintendo-Sw...nux/273192667748?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 Is it going to damage my switch if I use it? I've been hesitant to try paperclips especially after them not working, occasionally working, and with having to wait for CFW, I think I'll stick with something a little more foolproof.

My biggest question is: Will this damage my joycon rail?
That looks like one of mine, you will be fine. I've tested hundreds of these on my switch and it's still working perfectly, the thing to remember is to not force anything in the terminal it has to slide in without too much resistance

mine is quick and dirty, created from a pice of perf board. Ive sand it to the needed thickness and the wrap a piece of wrapping wire between two holes that short pins 9 and 10. I added a little bit of solder in order to grow the conductive material a bit, and the sand it till it performs ok. As the perfboards have standard sizes you can make your own just by counting holes from the edges

Sorry for Shit quality I used a joy con rail, just cut the ribbon cables off and soldered a piece of wire from the pin 1 to 10 points and than used industrial tape to keep the wire in place works 100% of the time

Got it off Ebay for just £3.50. I figured the keyring would make it easier to store.

Also things like this is where I can see those little 3D printer things you get can be pretty lucrative. People are making a small fortune off these things.

I always thought a 3d printer would eventually pay for itself in the long term.......it did B-)

that said I think it was just a lucky run, I have had it for about a year and didn't really make anything from it (although I have made lots of little parts for myself)

I'll test mine tonight and if it works, I'll sell for $8 with free shipping anywhere in Canada. Shoot me a PM .

Fuck! That would have been a lot easier lol, why also did you solder the pins than also
First I tried soldering the pins together which worked but I was worried that inserting the joycon over and over could damage the contacts on the switch itself as I felt it needed a bit more pressure to connect than when it was original.

So I just desoldered them with solder wick (which still left them shiny with solder but they are original now) and soldered the pins lile the picture.

This is great idea.
I will do it on mine.

I've got some jigs printed but i like the bridge idea better.

Nice, I like the idea of just the joycon rail, 100% safe on the pins in the console and easy as pie to do if you have a dead joycon or find a cheap pre owned one, I just use the rail because I’m keeping the carcus of the joycon for spare buttons, springs or screws all that type of shit if I ever need them

If i do the soldering (bridge) will the joycon work as usuall without the power +volume combo?
Can I still use it on ofw with no issue?
