Since the Switch has been hacked, is there a way to play movies on it? Thinking it would be perfect for taking camping of flights without messing around with laptops.

Maybe in the future. Nothing yet released, no hardware acceleration yet

maybe someone will port over VLC player, or build some new video player from scratch eventually. once there is hardware acceleration.

I WAS ABOUT TO FUCKING JUMP AND THEN I SEE IT'S JUST A QUESTION

I opened this thread just to see if you really meant DivX.
You are aware in two decades we’ve kinda moved on to movies transcoded to x265 codec delivered in Matroska containers?

I think the Switch has hardware H.265 acceleration or HEVC.

All this would be a ton easier if someone would make like a BIOS that is dual boot, one for Switch mode and one for Android mode then homebrew and video could sit on the Android side with nothing needing to be written... It's already made. Not saying this is possible, I don't know enough about the subject myself. But damn it would be awesome :)

I'm quite enjoying this trip back through time! Real player. Divx. QuickTime. We need to support all the things! Then watch old bad porn collections from 2001!
As long as I can play them in all their 240i glory

I wonder what kind of battery life we'd have if it was just used to watch videos.
