Hey Folks,
my switch has this Violet screen since today, I used it yesterday evening with the memloader and then shut it down. Is there any way I can fix this? I already tried hard reset and also disconnected the battery for 10 min but unfortunately it did not work. As soon as I turn on the switch this violet screen is there, and in the dock it is no longer recognized either.
* Switch is on 3.0

Violete kernel panic code = CPU error, you prob fried the SoC.... If that is the case it is dead.

Did u make a backup, and can u boot into RCM / run payloads?

unfortunately i did not make a backup, RCM & sending payloads & exectution works fine it just doesn't boot

See if you can get on RCM mode.

If not, like @jjbredesen said, violet kernel panic usually means bootloader error, but that shade of violet is more of a "Invalid CPU Context"/"Invalid SE State"/"CPU already awake".

Not sure if its a permanent brick tho, that can be recoverable.

It is a soft bricked, without a backup I am not sure u can recover, will check with Reswitched and get back to u.

YOU HAVE ALWAYS TO MAKE A BACKUP, now your switch is permanently dead

Are you an expert on kernel panics? If his switch can boot into RCM it can likely recover.

No need to further scare the guy by saying that his switch is permanently dead when it isn't.

He doesn't have his own signed backup. Nothing to recover if it's completely gone, unfortunately.

Probably corrupted.

Yes, but emunand, or patches from SD, the switch is not dead, it just can't boot OF

So long as it isn't a smoldering crater, you can always put something else there. My point was more to the OG distro. That's potentially just gone for good.

For many, completely losing the distro is probably not ideal.

can you get back into memloader, get into eMMC UMS mode, and restore your GPT ? i think i got a violet error like that when i intentionally corrupted the GPT CRC
a valid GPT is included here as gpt_prefix.bin https://files.sshnuke.net/hekate2rawnand.zip
just open the UMS device in hex workshop as disk then go restore sectors and choose the gpt_prefix.bin file and write it to sector 0

make a full eMMC backup before doing that though, i don't think you actually lost anything
