LOL, it will help me a lot for opening phones... I used a suction cup from my father's car :) and I used my guitar pick to open it, but its not as good as the ones made to open them...

"This stock-portfolio gives you majority ownership, over Home Depot - at which point, you probably could just walz into one of their stores and demand them to hand over the correct screwdriver at no cost!"

This is how millenial internet works:

I can haz X?
--link to *whatever*--
Is this X?
//personfromthesidelines: I just saw an ad for Y, you should probably buy Y
\\anotherperson: I haz bough Y and I very happy with Y.
--why not go into a store and ask?
Does anyone haz aliexpress link? I want aliexpress link! (Amazon for other products).

On top of that, everything is referal based (should I haz poll?), which is of course - why no one has an answer on the tip of their tongue, because - aliexpress deliveries take about 4 weeks to ship anywhere in the world (and if you are in china you are using taobao anyhow.. ;) ). At which point - everyone is just out of ideas. How could one get a recommendation...?

A person thats actually capable of reading, would solve this the following way:

Find this in an easy google search for switch triwing:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/189706-nintendo-switch/76097712?page=3

Find this in an easy search on aliexpress:

A:
https://aliexpress.com/item/gbatemp...arch0104.8.4.d4157470mccfTS&priceBeautifyAB=0

B:
https://aliexpress.com/item/gbatemp...108.1000016.1.611b2d6cFoy9hl&isOrigTitle=true

B - even has an image where you see Y00 imprinted on one of the screwdrivers.

(I needz one click - can anyone haz onclick for me? What is best? I really need one click. Also - I cant wait for the next five threads on this subject.)

edit: Edited their url syntax - both links should now resolve *in your language*. One click. Nice.
Dude, why do you always sound passive aggressive and impatient in all your posts? There is no reason to type an essay on every thread (no one is gonna read that), and there is no reason to be an asshole to random people on the internet. Just sayin’, you’re wasting your time. Let people ask quesitons:)

Let people ask dumb, low effort questions - without searching, without reading, always showing that they are not even willing to go one step beyond typing a 150 character line into their smartphones --

and let the world react with fluff, advertising driven crap, unfounded prejudices against "cheap chinese products", wrong answers, repeated "that how I feel", "thats what I've done", "thats what I'd like" responses that never reach even the simplest abstraction layer possible.

Let them order products with zero knowledge, then complain that they werent what they expected, then voice their displeasure on the internet, blaming someone else.

WELL WHAT KIND OF SCREWDRIVER DO YOU NEED THEN?

You are even lucky enough, that VENDORS cater to your kind, by putting up product listings which have the product you want to use a screwdriver on right in the description (sometimes wrongly so). This is as low effort as you could go - but no, you still want to go lower.

Please - someone provide me with a link, I can use on my smartphone - kind of stuff. Also, the link has to go to a vendor, with the lowest prices possible, because you not only want low effort, free support, and the right thing - without looking it up, you want cheap as well. And if you get a cheap source - queue the people that can imagine product quality based on the price range. Although I've tried many things in life, I've never managed that feat.

To be absolutely frank, I would never speak for more than two minutes to any of you - if you showed the same kind of behavior in a real world context. Here you are flooding a community with it.

And your excuse to be able to prolong all of it, is - "we don't want people to react to this with anything other than a smile" - fake smiles, and fake thanks for real and unpayed personal services - thats our generations gift to the world!

"But you'd also have the opportunity to just not say _anything_ - if you can't always handle this with a smile!"

And let the wrong information that your "low effort everyone just asks their thing" communities produce en large stand in here uncorrected?! Sure, easily... Very low effort.

Also I swear "No one reads long texts", just about a decade ago wasn't something to be proud of. Look how times have changed.

As long as this community doesnt manage to get a "here is the type screwdriver you need (abstraction), from a internationally available vendor, at a fair price" thread up before 10 "what screwdriver should I buy - give me link" postings, don't expect me to just always smile as if that would qualify as some kind of endurance training for the afterlife.

What you people are doing is exploiting others by mass pestering.

Let this sink in for a moment.

Until all the even somewhat expert voices have enough, and you are left with communities that prolong hearsay and wrong answers. And feels.

No one is moderating your behavior - although it is destroying anything resembling a forum you'd actually would enjoy reading not only your own threads in. ("I always enjoy the free support other people are giving me".)

And I'm sorry that I didn't just reply with a short stab back (which would have been more effective), but I'd rather explain - why sifting through polite but hopefully ignorant responses to "ever so personal support requests" isn't the model existence I envision, when visiting an online community.

And let one thing be very clear. This thread here wasn't created because of a question, it was created for someone else to fill an open support request. As I don't believe, you and me are in the charity business for primarily lazy 13-45 year olds -- How does your model work?

Who is supplying all this "free quality support" to people that have no interest in reading or caring about specifics? This is not a teacher / student model, this is everyone gets 10 exploitations for free!

What on earth do you think has entitled you or anyone else - to someone giving them a one click link to "best product to buy" from "the vendor you like" by just asking? Not even advertisers will care that much about you. Maybe Alexa does - but AI at this point really is the only model that can supply this on a mass basis - yet every day of the week someone tries to engage in this practice in forums like these, or reddit - or almost every other place on the internet, thats accessible with a smartphone.

Is this the image of humanity you'd like to prolong? Hey - when rulers in past decades guilt tripped their populations into doing work for free because they would be compensated in the afterlife - at least it served a common good. (Security, wealth sharing between professions, ...)

In todays society - where everyone tries to ride this privilege, you are actually doing the opposite, you are fostering societies, where its perfectly fine, to never read, search, or just do as much as pay for a newspaper on your own (why would you, smartphone feed has your needs covered...), and always try to rely on someone else that jumps on a whim to answer a question "you had". But also to be a little polite while they are at it, and sifting through the wrong answers already given.

And to your last point. Its MUCH harder for me to ignore all the needy/wrong/only feels based feels, about feels/hype postings in here, than for you to ignore my sometimes grumpy ramblings. You even have a forum feature thats tailored to your needs (the ignore list). You can life your safe space wishlife, I can't. Imagine for a moment, what life in this community would be for someone that actually tries to figure stuff out on their own. And has to read much of what gets posted in here on a daily basis.

We don't have the pleasure to brush off our shoes and pronounce "no one reads stuff that long". The people you try to bait in your support requests - generally have to. To give a correct answer. Thats how working out information works. You don't know by "polls", but by filtering, reading and experiencing stuff on your own.

If a moderator wants to get in contact with me over this, I would love to discuss how you could structure your forum to be less of a "free for all" support solicitation community. But it requires work thats not "just reacting to postings most people flagged - because they didn't like how Alexa talked back to them."

huh? does the switch have thing kind of screws?

No, that's only for NES/GameBoy cartridges.
The Switch requires #00 tri-wing screwdrivers and Philips-head screwdrivers. The link in the OP contains the tri-wing one but probably not the Philips one.

I ordered a screw driver kit a while ago and currently looking for it. It says it has y0.6 y2.0 and y2.5

I saw you need a y00 not sure if any of the ones i have will work or just buy a y00

There is no universally accepted designation for that screwdriver bit. At least two different outlets started producing these kinds of screws originally, calling them slightly different names - which is where Y and trywing and trybit came from as designations.

The correct diameter for the tipsize seems to be 2mm (will double check could be 1.5mm). We are currently going off the documentation iFixit provided (Y00), and what most of the chinese vendors for the Switch controller replacement shells sold to their customers (controllers use the same Y00 screws as the Switch base unit).

When it comes to 0.5mm tolerances, you start to have to ask yourself if even the manufacturing process is accurate enough to give you a consistent difference.. ;)

In your listing 0.6 refers to a popular iPhone 7 Y wing size thats 0.6mm in diameter, so your 2.0 - in theory, should be good. I'm no expert in the field by any means - but I researched this for 15 minutes yesterday.

Also - to everyone arguing with themselves if they should order now - its not even public yet, how you do the hardware assisted softmod. If it turns out that you need a clamp device that should permanently be located in the switch, chances are - that you will have to order twice. So unless you are sure you have what it takes to McGuyver it - there is no rush to be first at all cost (of 2-4USD and a shipment half across the globe ;) ). Imho.
