Hacking Priiloader, boot2 or IOS

I think this question is a noob question but priiloader is a boot2 exploit or a IOS exploit ?

Priiloader isn't an exploit. So neither. If installed, it is situated before the system menu and after boot2 in the bootchain.

You do need bootmii in boot2 to install priiloader. You should still install bootmii as IOS though

You should *probably* set up bootmii as boot2 if you haven't already, if boot2 can't be installed then do it as IOS.

You should *probably* set up bootmii as boot2 if you haven't already, if boot2 can't be installed then do it as IOS.

Priiloader is great. Basically the only sort of brick protection there is on Wiis with the nee boot1 (so bootmii can't be installed in boot2) as Bootmii as IOS is virtually useless without priiloader

We don't need a syscheck. Also, the boot2 version doesn't determine wether bootmii can be installed in boot2, that depends on boot1.

Yes, you can't install bootmii/boot2, we've established that. You can still install priiloader though.

That's not how it works. BootMii can always and only be installed on a Wii from the earlier productions runs that have the Trucha bug in boot1. It doesn't matter what system menu you've updated to as the flaw that allows it is not patchable.

Priiloader simply renames the boot app file for the system menu and replaces it with itself.
