after review the video, a bug which causes minute change is resolved.

episode 4 is too short, release episode5 as special gift

to prevent misunderstand, the direct save is native builtin and hardware emulated, works with clean mode, no need to patch or hotkey save. it works without battery completely. the battery on card is used by RTC only.

Congratulations on the new product. Will there be additional details anytime soon or are you waiting for it to be further developed?

Interesting. So this looks like a brand new GBA Flash Cartridge design. Can you tell us more about it? What features will it have? From what I can gather, it's utilising 256Mbit (32Mbyte) PSRAM or similar and additional NOR flash? Also Save States?

Put it up on the portal.
Doing the possibly reading too much into a video bit

Video showing it loading a 32 megabyte GBA ROM (the largest conventional ROM size) in less than 5 seconds, including another with an extra patch selected from the menu. Said patch is interesting as well as Mother 3 is a 32 meg game and that presumably means support for something more than IPS format which is limited to 16megs (though probably this means UPS instead as most other things would be too hard to reasonably do in hardware).
There does appear to be a mention of NOR. If you have enough RAM and the speed for such a short load then it is slightly less valuable than it was before outside of odd things like DS link and some aspects of gamecube linkup.
Save patch "auto" is in screen. Not sure the full extent of what that would mean for it, though maybe if you know it is SRAM you can tell it to look for that and it does not have to scan three types. I don't think the EZTeam would have regressed to older VBA emulator style save support where you would have to tell it to use a certain type of flash memory for some games as it did not detect it (if nothing else if you have the major type already then the sub type is right there with it).

There is what appears to be a clock in GBA mode which might mean a real time clock for those pokemon fans
A folder called RTS (real time save aka savestates)
A folder called cheats (hopefully a robust cheat engine is back)
A folder called images. Unsure what that is for (video/still capture on the GBA in software is slightly tricky but I guess if you have savestates you could do that, alternatively maybe icons of a sort for the game).
Also in shot are a NES game and a gameboy game which might mean native emulator support for such games.

almost 3.0 speed!!! is that supposed to trick the costumer to think it is "usb 3.0 speeds" or something like that? (like the dual core BullS in NDS flashcarts) (i am kidding)

@FAST6191 hey fast don't forget to mention, it's a DS lite size shell, which is also a great point, just hope the too large shell problem was fixed

anyway, great job, took a little while, and not sure if today this card will still sell, because most of us already got a flashcart like the older ez iv, or moved into the everdrive
but if the price is right i might get one, i have too much gba flashcarts, and i barely use them lol

a bunch of questions appeared tough:

the card apparently still has NOR, is that for a compatibility for the games that fail to boot from the ram, or nds-gba\gba-gamecube linking? i suspect its just the former..
hope the battery has a holder and it's easily replaceable, rather have a smaller battery than unsolder it
"isolated" RTC or is the clock shared?
i suspect the GBC and NES roms will work the same way as the everdrive.
power consumption?

wait, is there any annoucement of the everdrive gba x7?
It's been for sale for a long time I thought... Or maybe I'm confusing the ghc everdrives... But in either case, if it's not cheaper than krikzz's Everdrive GBA, then I can't justify buying one.

If someone had told they would still be making new GBA flashcards in 2018 Id have laughed at them. If this is cheap I guess Id pick one up. No reason for it to be expensive in the current year.

last off topic, you are confusing them
for the GBA they only have the gba x5 so far, i am waiting for the x7, however there are no news about it for a very long time
for the GBC they have the x3 x5 and x7

I think it is more that the GBA is now retro (have you seen the prices of the hardware and games lately?) and that brings a different crowd or some of the originals back.

Price wise I am not expecting R4 clone levels. The sort of hardware you need to run GBA games is enough send the bill of materials up there a bit. (few NOR chips and RAM, maybe a real time clock, decent rechargeable coin cell maybe, half decent programmable device to govern it all). Memory wise price has dropped compared to the GBA era, though at the same time size has not really risen in the speeds and formats needed. https://www.digikey.co.uk/products/...66&quantity=0&ColumnSort=0&page=1&pageSize=25

By isolated RTC I assume you mean does it have its own one for the cart or does it pull from the DS clock? GBA mode can't reach out and touch any of the DS hardware so probably not.
Theoretically with a flashme modded DS (or a DS flash cart) you could boot into DS mode, pull from the DS clock, note it somewhere, boot into GBA mode, load your noted time and carry on from there, all automatically and over a few seconds. Nobody is going to do that for a consumer cart though.

For a while now the team has used a chip that does both SRAM and NOR. If they know the line, know the quirks and have all the code to manage it then it might be that. Any failure to boot from RAM should be a software/patching issue. Equally looking at the chip sites for the reply above there are a few combined RAM and NOR chips and they represent a slightly easier way of getting the RAM. If you have the NOR as a bonus then why not add it?

Can't speak to the others until we at least see a PCB shot.

My guess he's refering to isolated RTC clocks for the pokemon games.
The Everdrive GBA suffers from the issue. If you play one RTC game (let's say Ruby) and set the clock, it messes up the RTC of other RTC games.

That said, we don't even have a *confirmed* RTC at all yet, but chances are, there is.

for "isolated" rtc i mean each game has it's own time, no pokemon shared clock issue
krikkz called it isolated rtc in it's gbc cards, that's why i am also calling it that way

Yeah I figured it would be that after Localhorst86's post.

When scanning through the RTC chips as well as the NOR stuff I saw them end up quite complex in their features so I imagine it will first go through the governing/management chip, any setting commands almost certainly would. I guess they could in turn note the serial of ROM loaded and set an offset value. What will happen here I do not know.
