Switch TrustZoneHax on 4.x

nintendo-switch-15-1-630x354.jpg

The ReSwitched Hacking Team have done it again. motezazer, ktemkin and SciresM have achieved code execution on 4.1.0, the latest version at the time of writing this, via deja vu at TrustZone level. This means devices on 4.1.0 and below will be able to gain access to the whole system. SciresM strongly advises to not update in the future.

After less than a year, the Switch hacking team has moved extremely fast and now have got full access on the latest version. The progress being made is incredible, and in comparison, the 3DS took around 2 years to get ARM9 access. The scene is looking very promising so far and we are very lucky to have such talented people working on the Switch.

Stay in 4.1.0, dude.
And to be sure, disable internet connections altogether from the console as well.
Unless you play online, then go for the DNS route, but if you don't, better to have the console offline at all times.
I was wondering about this, does it do the same thing the Wii U does? (Auto Update even when off)

Nothing will get released until tx releases their solution because devs feel like tx will steal the solution and make a mod chip out of it.

Just my opinion

I think it does... ?
Since I bought it, my Switch hasn't been connected to the internet, not even once, I didn't even setup an internet connection at all.
But I assume DNS server blocks the Nintendo servers for updates as well, just be sure to seek out the correct information in here on how to block it through DNS.

But it doesn't make any sense, who will buy a TX mod chip if they release a free softmod?

Entered the DNS settings, first one with the one that blocks, and second one as blank.

I've been downloading as many games as I can and have blocked updates in preparation for news like this. @SciresM is legit a hacking wizard. Just a bit ago we knew Deja vu existed on 4.x but required new privilege escalation due to older exploits being patched, but man he and the others got that escalation fast. Good job to everyone involved, and I can wait to see an eventual release (even if it takes a while)
I previously updated past 3.0.0 because my game library simply wasn't large enough to be worth staying. But now that I have plenty of games and still have access to them until an update comes out, I should be set abs ready to stay where I am until we see something come from this.

Edit: I'll clarify by "downloading games" I mean legit eshop titles to grow my library so I went get bored while waiting once an update prevents me from using eshop

Hmm... this is really great. I hope to see a way to bypass Nintendo's patch to hacked Mii names being inappropriate due to certain unobtainable symbols like a Switch symbol itself... it was quite fun to run especially on Splatoon 2 before Switch update 4.0.0 patch ruined the fun.

It'll be the same conundrum that happened with Gateway. I fell victim to this myself.

1. Buy kart/chip to mod your system
2. Three months - nine months later, Kart/Chip stops updates/support and a superior softmod will release

You'll be paying a premium for early access to homebrew and piracy. I personally was okay with it because during the time the gateway kart released, the software portion of the 3DS scene was in turmoil and wasn't entirely user friendly.

Same here but that's was different, Gateway was the only way to have homebrew on the 3ds for a very long time.

Here we have at the same time a pay solution Vs a free one and maybe even easier to install too. Guess what people are going to use...
