Does your mod also require some 7zip?
No, the mod installs a version of p7zip on the snes mini and uses that to compress the save states. You do not need to do anything though other than drag and drop the hmod into hakchi2 and install it. With the addition of the decompress script you also do not need 7zip to decompress the saves either.

It took me half a day to figure out why start and select didn't jump back from a snes game to the menu. It was because of 2.21e. ...f is fine again. I guess we should get rid of e.

I use select+start to do menu just fine in E. Hakchi2 version has absolutely nothing to do with select+start for RetroArch options. If you run default NESC emulator or Canoe, select+start will not work, since RetroArch is not being used. If you reconfigure controls in RetroArch, you may also inadvertently screw up select+start shortcut. To fix this, simply uninstall/reinstall RetroArch. Again, hakchi2 has no impact on RetroArch shortcut:)

I'm running USB-Host on NESC and all NES games using kachikachi play in black & white. I uninstalled, reflashed stock and went through the USB-Host install process again and I'm still getting the same issue. Is there any current fix for this, or am I doing something wrong?

You using my Core Set?

Quick question, when you run TG16CD games, does it reset every time you go to the retroarch menu?

Have you followed my latest EASY Sega-CD/ Turbografx-CD video?

Yeah that's why I was asking. I just got done with your video, combined the two files into a CHD, started it up with my usb setup and it loads to the TG16CD startup screen and when I hit the run button the game (Rondo) starts fine and plays great. Until I hit start and select to go to the retroarch menu, takes me back to the TG16CD startup screen.

Oh, hehe, select and start is reset on a real Turbografx-CD system:) You are best off doing it pre-game, when Core is first opened. Then, use suspend points to save when exiting.

it will not always reset. The conflict of select+start for RetroArch options will mostly usurp the reset:)

Ohhhh hahha thanks for letting me know. Guess I'll change my retroarch shortcut then :)

No real need to change RetroArch shortcut. Just open up RetroArch options, when first opening the Core:) There really isn't a whole lot you need to do in RetroArch options, that you can't do pre-game:) I know about the select+start, because I owned a real Turbografx-CD DUO at one point:) It really isn't the best shortcut for a reset. But, it works! Some systems required you to reset on the system itself...Calling you out Atari 2600!!!

I watched a KMFDManic video with the rewind feature on nes mini using retroarch. I' m wondering if this is possible with kachikachi, the stock emulator.

Ok. So i need to delete one folder inside /etc/libretro. How do i do that? I don't want to uninstall and reinstall retroarch completely.

Nevermind, found a way to do it with a hmod.

1. Open hakchi2
2. Make sure you use the retroarch mod (if not: I don't think it's possible to solve, since it says that the original emulator can't handle it)
3. Drop one game with this problem in the program
4. "Do you want to use a 3rd party emulator ?" -> select no
5. Go to the command line of that game (inside hakchi2) and add the following at the very end: " --retroarch" (without the "", so starting with a space and two dashes)
6. Repeat steps 3-4-5 for each game with this problem (one at a time is most safe, so that you don't forget one)
This solved this problem for all three game who gave this error by me.

Okay....but if I were to try to play the games that say they won't work correctly....what will happen ? Will they play...just with glitches ?

No, they will play with the SNES9x emulator.

Does Snes9x (not 2005/2010, but mainline), run full speed on Snes Classic hardware? I ask because a lot of people are suggesting 2010, which is based off a pretty old core.

Snes9x is now at 1.55 officially, and 2010 is based off of 1.52.

ah. It's only a couple of games like Earthworm Jim 2 that it says won't work. They're not games I grew up playing, and still haven't played, so it's not that big of a deal. On my SNES classic, which I'll be getting for Christmas, I'm sticking with just SNES games and no hmods...other than the save state compression and extra space mods. For space reasons. I want to have as many games as possible, and other emulators and retroarch would take up space.

You could always do the USB mod and have as many games as you want.

You can roughly have 270 SNES games. On the SNES classic mini that you might get for Christmas.
Yeah...if you don't care about save states, though, right ? Isn't there only about 240mb of space, right ? As of right now, I have 97.1mb of games. That's 134 games.

I might, if I had the money to get a usb drive of some kind. Even if I did, the 134 games that I have on Hakchi right now are, I think, plenty. 99 percent of those, I have never plaid. When I was a kid I only had 6 games ; Pilotwings, Super Bases Loaded, Super Mario World, FZero, Bill Lambeer's Combat Basketball, and Final Fight. There are a lot of rpgs that I just have no interest in. Though, I have found some great games, while looking for games to put on the classic.

Canoe doesn't emulate SPC700/S-SMP audio streaming, which is what that game uses. In fact, only two emulators get it right, Snes9x and Higan due to the cycle-accurate audio emulation. Other games in Canoe have audio issues such as Secret of Evermore missing audio channels.
