I didn't have to work on it. I didn't have to give you a guys a heads up. I would have been willing to refine my post if necessary. But thankless dicks? I'll pass....

Exactly..

Check the edit above please, there's an IPS patch I think.

Name-calling is pretty low, dude :(

Darkakuma You're correct. You didn't have to work on it. But at the same time, had you simply been forthcoming with the help you could provide/patch you could assist with, then everyone would have been widely grateful for your work and efforts, rather than 'thankless' as you put it.

Cluster didn't have to go out of his way to make this tool - but he did, and he provides the information which he does have to people and is thanked endlessly for it.

The whole 'guess what I have and guess what you dont' isn't a good approach for people in hope who have been waiting patiently as it is.

With choices like this, no wonder people lose hope. If anything, withholding a vital file from the community only hurts it.
Thanks, @DarkAkuma :(

If only you weren't so cryptic with your backwards message there wouldn't have been a misunderstanding. We would've understood, but the secrecy doesn't help.

Entitled people like you hurt the community. People that actually work and try to contribute like me help it.

I made a huge mistake posting here...

Contributing, you mean by writing vague backwards messages and withholding patches that help compatibility and then getting upset because we get confused at the cryptic message?

We were trying to find out why you used cryptic messages? Is that a crime to ask for elaboration? :(

I dont think you're understanding what Randomizer and I are saying.

You made a post written backwards, cryptically mentioning there 'may' be a patch on a discord server somewhere, and not to quote you on it?!
Discord is huge - with no direct link provided, no future promise of when you intended to release an actual link - I'm unsure how this is contributing?

People have already been patient and in hope for a fix, and reading that post backwards, with no actual solution (i.e. no change in the situation to what it already was), is more frustrating than not to have heard anything at all about the situation...

If a link were provided, or 'hey guys I will have a patch up for grabs in the next XX days', I know I personally would have been grateful as I'm sure others' would have too.

If you can't understand that, then not sure what else can be said..

What's the limit of games that can be added to the SNES before you have to worry about save states and errors and whatnot? I remember in the early days of the NES that was an issue. Not sure if that's changed over time. Thanks in advance!

Probably 60 or so before you'll need a new folder; if there are too many ROMs on a folder, you may encounter a C8 error when shutting down.

Ah okay. Is there an exact number to this or do you just have to fiddle around with it? I'm thinking of having the original games in root with everything else in folders split equally. Or maybe just have everything in folders (30 games max)?

Manual folder 2.15 to 2.20. I can just extract the newer files over my older one still right?

Reason I ask is since I had my nes classic dump, my folder icons, some mods and my games already.

Just didnt know.. if things changed THAT much with the snes addition. Also wondering.. if the 1st nes classic dump is called kernel.. what is it now when you work with both nes AND snes now? Ill assume we can still use the 1 folder to handle both classics right?

I don't know the exact numbers, I just know after a certain no. the system tends to freak out.

@DarkAkuma

Great, what is the link to this patch, and no offence, why the secrecy ?

I've been on discord watching DarkAkuma's progress. The reason he's being secretive and cryptic is due to the patch having pcm and uncompressed graphics data from the rom file making it far more questionable to link here. I will say he could have handled it better. Last I checked he's planning on doing a write up on the header/footer and the pcm and graphics formatting in sfrom files

Edit: removed double quote

That wasn't his question though...

We don't know how much memory you should keep free to allow savestates. I personally guess that the reason we have 260MB rather than 300 like on the NESClassic is that they locked that last part for save states... it's only a theory and not founded on any proof. I would suggest keeping a bit of memory. Maybe just try and pack it the most and check save states and rewind...

I don't know, I'm just guessing. I'm wrong, I know.

This explains it pretty well: https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmo..._savestates_are_taken_from_the_total_storage/

So figure out the ftp to see everything that was pretty cool to be able to see everything. Now I Have 2 other questions I cant seem to work out. I have around 75 games in the home folder and have it set to 80 when I shutdown I get the C8 error. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it as it is random but I added the retro arch n64 for Mario kart 64. first of it I will not load in less I put it into its own folder. which I also started noticing the c8 error after adding the n64. is there a way to put a log or some to get a better idea of why I am getting the C8 error?

And lastly anyone else have the issues and possibly a fixz for Mario Kart 64 Crashing on the 4th race?

thank again for the help.

Figured out that I need to leave at least one game in the root file system. I just wanted system folders, but it went into a boot cycle and black screen.
So that answers that question.

Can someone answer me, if this is a problem that only occurs if you mess with FTP (as the user I quoted had done)? I was going to have folders too (using just Hakchi, no FTP), with no games in root.

I have four folders with 25 games each in the root. No standalone games. All works fine.
