Man I saw many users asking for this, I was pretty sure it wouldn't be possible ! You're really amiibo master on hack scene :) Wish you the best on this project ! (Well when we see Thenaya being a Beta and working pretty good... I'm not too worried)

cool project !
been reported on Logic-Sunrise, but they kinda make it sound like the project aims at emulating a physical, usable amiibo with the 3DS hardware (the newser english really sucks bit time...french also I guess lol)
from my understanding it aims at emulation an amiibo FOR the 3DS OS, which is still cool in its own right in my book :)

keep up the good work, cheers from France :)

What is this:
This is a app which tries to make other apps/games in the 3DS think that there is an amiibo being scanned. Ultimate goal would be to let you unlock/use features which require an amiibo by using a compatible amiibo dump file (Kind used by TagMo/Thenaya/AmiiBomb).

Goal is clearly to use amiibo dumps to directly unlock content, without having to write it on any NTAG215 nor N2Elite, basically this is emulation right. But that means same thing than having physical amiibo/NTAG215/N2Elite for what I understood...

It's also quite similar to Amiibo. The name was intentionally chosen to be not too similar to amiibo to prevent the possibility of nintendo putting a trademark challenge like they did for amiiqo.
They did that? Really?
I'm mostly sure that shouldn't proceed. The trademark is on the name and product as a whole, they can't trademark letters out of it.
If that were the case, the spanish word "amigo" should be filed as breaking the copyright as well.
Completely bollocks.

Just to know why cannot be the wiiu supported? (with mocha/ios patch) (pretty sure you can replace the default one but the wiiu isn't as documented as the 3DS)

Awesome tool tho.

BEFORE ANY QUESTIONS - IMPORTANT:

This app is only for the 3DS (not usable for Switch/Wii U or anything else)
It is still in development, it doesn't really work and it crashes.

Its very much under development at the moment. I'm making the code public and posting this thread in the hope that other more knowledgable developers could help out sort some bugs.

This module is meant to replace the native NFC module of the 3DS.

Source: https://github.com/HiddenRambler/NoAmii

Pre-requisites:

Luma 8.1
A custom "loader" (a modified version from the code made by YifanLu/Luma). which enables loading exefs for a exiting title via a CIA rather than a code.bin. (https://github.com/HiddenRambler/Luma3DS)

Usage:

Put the included loader.cxi into /luma/sysmodules folder on the SD card.
Put the noamii binary 0004013000004002.cxi into the /luma/titles folder of the SD card.
Put a valid amiibo dump into /amiibo_dump.bin file on the SD card.
Put the amiibo key file (same as used for Thenaya) into /amiibo_keys.bin file on the SD card.
Reboot the 3DS.
Open amiibo settings panel and you trying to change the owner details or reset an amiibo will bring up a black screen with the prompt "Place Amiibo?" pressing D-Pad Up will simulate placing of an amiibo. pressing any other key will simulate not having an amiibo. (Hint keep pressing B to cancel).

If your amiibo dump has valid Smash bros data you could get it to work within SSB. however attempting to update the amiibo data will cause a crash.

Like i said the app currently has a memory corruption issue which is causing the above SSB crash. Any help in figuring it out would be aprecciated.

Please try to not post any non development related posts off this thread. If you are not a developer its not worth trying to get this to work at the moment.

This is JUST what I was talking about in that Thenaya thread. They didn't think this was possible. Well, you're proving them wrong. Great work on this!!! Good luck!
I hope people step up their game and help out

I would LOVE for this to emulate amiibos (broadcasting the NFC signal), cycling through all of your amiibos. Then, you can use your 3DS with your Switch, Wii U, or your other 3DS system. A lot of people have multiple systems. This would be a beautiful thing.

It would be awesome indeed, but not sure if doable lol

Good luck to you! This is one big feature we're missing for CFW. Not that it really matters but as others have said the name it a bit awkward, +1 for amiiNO or perhaps NOmiibo.

Thank you so much for starting this project out I can't wait to see how it'll evolve! Has there been any consideration for a menu to select one out of multiple amiibo dumps (of course after the app is a bit more developed)?

Great project but I dont knkw how to use it. Does it work on new luma nightly or do I have to get one with your patch? And if so how to get it as i can't compile it. And also does it work on o3ds also?

Man, there's been so much progress with amiibo on 3ds lately, but this is definitely the best one I've seen so far! Gonna have to check this out later

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
