ROM Hack Minish Cap Freeshop black screen

Hey guys, I've been trying to get Minish cap working, I downloaded it from the new freeshop but once I launch it I get a black screen. My friend says it's working fine for him, any help is appreciated.

I think you need to have a patched agb_firm. (Unless newer CFWs have eliminated that problem)

So what's an agb_firm, and how do I patch it? I tried injecting a minish cap rom using the Ultimate GBA VC Injector, but same thing happened

Perhaps, but I think it's kinda weird that even the freeshop version doesn't work. Though I will say, I tried using the rom I used for gba injection on retroarch emulator and it gave me a failed to load content, so that possibility exists. I can't seem to find many minish cap roms. It's like they've all been taken down.

You don't need to do that anymore, that's long been fixed.

Are you running on sysNAND or emuNAND?

Is your SD card actually working properly?
What CFW are you using?

Use Luma3DS, Make sure if you are using Emunand, that the game is installed to the Sysnand too. If all fails, Refer to https://3ds.guide/troubleshooting

ive got a9lh luma, and everything else works properly on my 3ds, even an injected chrono trigger rom. So I'd say my sd is working properly.

3DS Clean titles. Use the TWL and AGB. They fix luma patching.

What about other GBA games? It has to do with AGB firm.

If they work, then something is wrong with Minish cap. If those too are broken. Follow what I said.

Do they actually work or do you just have them?
And go into the system settings. If it says "Sys" in the version number, it's the sysNAND. If it says "Emu" it's an emuNAND. I can explain them in more detail if you want, but it's more important for us to know what we are dealing with.

So do they work, did you boot them, was you able to play it? I'm more concern about which version of luma you have? I feel if is anything under version 7, I know what the problem could be. But just in case, can you run a NDS game? CART ot DSIWARE? Is there a file on your sd card called Arm9loaderhax_si.bin?

He has under 7 since he is still running Arm9Loaderhax

Before you do anything, can you play NDS games? Is there a file called arm9loaderhax_si.bin on your sd card?
