It won't. I already tried it too... It can't rewrite the game. I can't neither reinstall, nor delete... That's why i'm stuck from the start :/ ...

How can i delete the patch ? (not the app, but what i did download from the app)
I think you just need to delete the plugin and mhxx folder on your SD cars

Just install game again via FBI it should overwrite files, then apply patch and then english patch. Though if you have saves present you should first install mh save backup .cia don't know proper name for it but i used it once.

Or just install patch and then do english patch this should to overwrite files and fix issue.

makes me wonder whats happening with the translation efforts. On both sides I mean. All contacts been silent, :( oh well. I'm not TOO hard pressed for translations. Since all I wanted was to help out with translations.

I can't imagine team dasding is up to anything? was said from the start they didn't plan to bring over the MHG content and I'm guessing they feel a bit burnt out after efforts on MH Stories, I mean a side MH game that seemed unlikely to get localized now is.

Sure, MHXX seems super unlikely with MHS coming West in Sepetember and then MHW early 2018, I doubt Capcom would fit in a western MHXX especially since they haven't said anything but who knows...

That makes sense of course. But there was few others who seemed capable of starting and everything, and I extended my help on the subject, haven't heard from them. As for MHXX, I'm sure it will come to the west.... on the switch. Thats the only logical thing to do for the nintendo fans when they ain't getting their monster hunter. I think worlds is far superior with everything I am seeing, including the fact its returning to its roots, but still including new things. The only thing that concerns me is the amount of monsters. I don't expect it to rival MHXX with its total of 97 monsters, which is including deviants and subspecies. (I think).

Though while MHW remains in production, I still believe the best time to get MHXX out, anywhere, for western people too, is now. It will cultivate interest in MH, and satisfy those who want to wait. The most difficult thing for me is the language barrier on multiplayer, plus the fact NPC's that explain stuff is also in japanese, which drives me to want to help with localization. I just haven't heard from the 3 I contacted. Then again, I am just a guy who wants to play MHXX localized before MHW, where it will become irrelevant to me. It would be even better if World has G-rank right away too. But since its on consoles like Xbone and PS4, I'm seeing so much more potential for additional content which is both scary and exiting, so I'd like to enjoy MHXX before its up. What better way to get it quicker than to actually help out on the efforts? Though apparently not many people share the sentiment. I am not stupid, or desperate enough to do it all myself though.

I think it's pretty unlikely they'll localize MHXX for a few reasons:
  1. There's no room on their calendar to localize, market and release it before MHW comes out.
  2. There's a long history of the West not getting Monster Hunter games, we're missing over half of them. It wouldn't be unusual at all for them to a skip a game here, especially with the much more Western focused MHW on the horizon.
  3. When the MHW PR guys were asked by Gamespot if MHXX was coming out in the West, they replied "No." They later changed their tune on Twitter to vague "nothing to announce" statements to try and defuse the situation, which mostly worked as people are confused now.
  4. An insider who correctly teased the name "Monster Hunter World" weeks before the official announcement has said that Capcom isn't working on localizing it. He said no work has started and the only way it would happen is if Nintendo steps in to help.

I actually had no idea they originally outright denied they where working on it, rather than being vague. Though something like that, only drives me to want to help even more. What better way than to have it now since on the horizon, a game is coming out. Though it reminds me there are countless other japanese only game that didn't make it to the west, that I would of love to spend money on. Its a shame I happen to be interested in most, the japanese games. I always gotta wait, while japanese gets first dips for a century. I still remember trying my hardest and damnest not to get spoiled by Persona 5 and it ended up being my the best P5 I ever played.

I'd suggest starting up something yourself then? Didn't @Coder_Oak offer help? if you just start out bringing over the MHG localization stuff and lining it all up, could worry about translating the rest later?

Extracting the text from both MHXX and MHG is easy enough and even importing back in isn't that much trouble.

Though the potential of a team already working on doing this does put a hinder on starting up something new.

And at the end of the day if text is taken directly from MHG you can't really upload that content here since its copyrighted so its down to "piracy" sites and this translation isn't here to promote piracy, which could result in everyone keeping quiet if something is in the works, though doubtful, I imagine most have moved on since the game is playable with this current version if you have ever played MH before, this sits in a similar situation as MHP3rd.

Would rather see efforts go into Poka Poka Felyne Village DX since that is sure as hell a MH game we aren't getting :P

"Shortend for sake of not having it wall of texty"

I have played MH 3rd. Its fully translated however, and you can easily follow along and learn the game, in the game, without having to rely on outside sources to understand certain mechanics. I have no idea what the airship part is all about, the lab, or anything, and I only now learned how to transmogrify, only to find out that I could of far earlier if I actually known that, and been able to read Japanese. Who knows what other tidbit I am missing just because not everything is translated.

Actually your right about one thing, I am worried there is a silent team already working on it, the last thing I want is my efforts to go to waste, plus I am not stupid enough to do this on my own. I understand the gravity of the task at hand. I am just one guy who isn't very smart either. I went around offering my help because I want it out sooner than later, but of course I was met with silence. You wont believe how many times I had to do things on my own. Quite frankly, I am burned out. From reverse engineering, to providing rigged models, to creating mods, I had to do a lot on my own because I just couldn't garner any support. I'd gladly start on the project if I had the stupidity too spend hours on it on my own, its why I offer my hand. Coder Oak's hand was in helping with coding aspects. It would help me dissect what text I need to translate, but I'd still need to translate a lot of text on my own. Of course I'd love to have him teach me how to access and translate the files, then inject them in.

I decided to spoiler tag these so I don't wall of text this chat. Read if you want, or don't if you don't care. Its up to you. Don't say I didn't warn you. Its just a passionate gamer rant and opinions that might be wrong.

I also don't understand the copyright thing either, it seems completely backwards to me. Can't upload it here? The very METHOD of patching is against terms of use. Why sidestep some laws, but completely hammer down others? Especially when the efforts is to further the enjoyment of a game, rather than promote the stealing the law is there to prevent. Plus I argue that you cant copyright words, because thats all you'd be taking. I'd never use one file from one game to repalce a file from another game, even if their structure was the same. I'd instead use their contents as a reference to hurry my own advancement in what ever I am doing. NPC Dialogues would get copied over, not because of copyright, because that's the sentence it translates INTO. I rather use something that gets to the point, rather than having to translate into something more roundabout to avoid translations being the same. It seems backwards honestly. Though this isn't about that. I could be completely ignorant, and you'd be right, who knows.

The game is playable, I have been playing it as is. Though I cant tell you how many times I got lost and confused and I was just going with what my memory told me. "If I do this in this order, I will advance" and trust me, I missed a few things too that I was unawares, because I couldn't read Japanese. I'm glad I was proactive in researching the game though. The UI translation has made me able to enjoy the game comfortably as a guy who enjoys monster hunter at least. I wholeheartedly thank Dasding and the team for it, as they made me able to enjoy the G rank hunts. Though unfortunately I didnt have much fun without a friend or two to hunt with.

People who go "OMG MHXX on the switch, and its region free" forget that japanese is a hard language to read if you are not Japanese. I'd imagine my dyslexia would make it even harder to read and translate on the fly. The game would be hell to play, so it means not if the game gets released on the switch, a western version in general is required. However, its not like I don't understand the world, Through a business side of things, Capcom is already investing in a western game. Why would they invest in two, and potentially botch one of them. They have smarts to do it, because MHXX is just the intermediary to me. I really could care less about it, and I'd be dropping it faster than praying mantises heads on mating season. All I know that playing this game made me realize how much of my language I take for granted. I skim over text that seem unimportant, and understand a game naturally because its in my comprehension. Remove that, and I get confused, uncomfortable, and lost, despite being able to at least navigate and hunt normally. We might even get MHXX for the west... on the switch. That wont matter to me because I don't own a switch, because a certain company WONT MAKE MORE. I'd still offer help for a 3DS translation, as not everyone has a switch, like myself. Though the switch is highly unlikely. I just don't see it happening with MHW in the waters.

~~~
Heard of that game, wasn't very interested in it, as I saw Gaijin Hunter play it one time. It was cute is all. I guess effort goes into only what is in demand. Everyone is now complacent about what they have, and only a few whiny people, like myself, are making a big stick about wanting full localization, expesially after how unreliable capcom can be. I think in conclusion:
I sorta half accepted I aint getting a localization anytime soon, by the time I do MHW will be on my mind and I'd be a happy camper. My interest is already dwindling because a lonely hunter is no hunter to be, and now since I cant even communicate with the other hunters, its even lonelier. I cant help but feel hunters even leave when they find it I'm actually a westerner. I swear to you, I join in a lobby with the name "Kuro" and they might even be readied up for a quest, but then they all leave. Discouraging as all hell, and I have no idea why. Of course I can play the game normally but yeah. A lonely hunter is no hunter to be, discomfort would rise from the unfamiliarity, and who knows how much longer I'd stick with it, and move on to the next best game till early 2018.
Ehhmmm if i want to translate things for MHXX what tools do i need to use ? Is there any tutorial etc ?
@inkdragon ??? It works fine with luma.
---------------
As for MHXX, I'm sure it will come to the west.... on the switch.
Imo not going to happen for simple reason PR costs. People often remember that porting something is usually cheap but they forget that to sell something you need PR which is by itself costly and could mean that they can even lose money if thing won't sell a lot. MHXX in japan also isn't seller. 1,5 mln coppies is below even Capcom modest approximations. So releasing it for west to bomb (and not make enough money to justify port) is correct way for capcom to go from business standpoint.
So instead of porting and spending money on MHXX pr they will focus on MHW and spend all money to PR it
you need to install update to mhxx .cia. You can't update from japanese servers playing on your Eu/Us system.
