Where's the boot.firm? Here's what I've got in the SD card:
F:luma/payloads
GodMode9.firm
SafeB9SInstaller.firm
That's it. Removing GodMode9.firm doesn't force it to run SafeB9SInstaller.firm instead.

Not in payloads, I'm gonna update and see if I have the same problemWhere's the boot.firm?
I though he said that's what was on their entire SD card. Not in payloads, I'm gonna update and see if I have the same problem
I've got this:
I didn't notice a "boot.firm" file specifically mentioned in the instructions. "Boot.3dsx" is in the root of the card, as it's supposed to be. I did notice a "boot.firm" in the root directory but I don't recall putting it there, or being asked to add it.
- Copy boot9strap.firm and boot9strap.firm.sha from the boot9strap .zip to the /boot9strap/ folder on your SD card
Instructions
Section I - Prep Work
- Remove your SD card from your device, leaving it on the Homebrew Launcher, then insert your SD card into your computer
- Copy boot.firm from the Luma3DS .7z to the root of your SD card
Section III - Updating Luma3DS
- Insert your SD card into your computer
- Delete the existing boot.firm from the root of your SD card
- Copy boot.firm from the Luma3DS .7z to the root of your SD card
- Reinsert your SD card into your device
Wait, are you trying to launch safeb9installer?I'm not at that section yet. I did this anyway, and it didn't seem to help.
rename SafeB9Installer to right_SafeB9Installer, then hold right while powering up the system,I'm trying. It's not there. Holding down START at boot takes me to GodMode; no exceptions and no option to run SB9. Is there a way to run the SafeB9Installer from the Homebrew Launcher? I've tried to do that, but it just red screens and kicks me back out to the homebrew menu.

You're probably booting off the CTRNAND since you seem to be missing boot.firm on SD.Nah, that didn't work either... it just goes straight to the menu after eight seconds. Apparently there's something going on with my 3DS that prevents a proper install. I'm going to take a break from this... I have a funny feeling I'm going to have to try again with a fresh memory card, because there's a lot of junk on this one and any of it could interfere with a proper installation.
It's also peculiar that deleting GodMode.firm from the SD card didn't stop God Mode from running. Where exactly did my 3DS find it?
It would one thing if the other CFWs were long dead, but they aren't. They have active devs with active users. There should have been some attempt to reach out to these devs and help them work with the new version of B9S. Instead they are left in the dark and their users suffer due to a gross bias.

I was unaware that they were public commit, I do apologize for my statementsAll of the development for B9S 1.2 took place in public, with public commits to a public github branch.
How is it my responsibility to know who to message and contact these people?
I would happily have given instructions to anyone who had contacted me, but literally nobody did....and I'm active here, on twitter, on Reddit, on 4chan, on discord, and on irc, so it's not like contacting me is difficult. And B9S was in pre release for a full day (which would have been a great time for someone who I was apparently biased against to contact me, wouldn't it?)
Also, it's not "bias", it's that the luma devs basically wrote the entirety of the 1.2 update.
So, yeah, who specifically should I have contacted, and why did they not contact me?
