Ok, I read through all 40+pages of this thread and I want ask some questions about putting stuff on the island:

Is there a limit in how many pwps that can be placed on the island?

Are there certain pwps that will cause freezing? For example the cafe?

I read that you can put the town train station on the island. What happens if your friend tries to visit you via online? Or if you use it yourself to visit other towns?

Can you put a player's house on the island?

1) Well, there's a space limit, so you can fill the entire area.

2) I believe that instanced building PWPs are different, and store the door locations, so even if you place the brew shop in the island, it will not crash but it will bring you back to the island. Bugs bugs bugs.

3) I have no idea, I can only imagine it would only move the building but when someone visits or returns, it will send them to the location that the game knows, which is that spot in the town. I can't see why the game would ever decide to load the island before loading the town. It would bring about some pretty nasty bugs.

4) Uh.. I would say yes but i'm not positive. Again, nasty bugs will occur.

Funny screenshots !

I put the cafe on the island, we cant move when we go out, and our character is totally black

So did you manage to get the cafe working bug free? And what happens if you a put a player's house on the island? what kind of glitches or bugs appear? And last question, what's the offset to add pwp to the island?

If memory serves me right your game should crash if you try to enter a villager's house on the island. As for the cafe you can see what happens above in the print screen. The game breaks (not permanently).

I asked it on another thread and just in case someone over here knows, I've got a question.

Is there any way to backup dream towns via the Homebrew launcher method or nah? Like in a similar manner to the way we did it in the older method? I just found my old dream town from a year or so ago and I'm curious to see if I can back it up and make it an actual town.

Nintendo made it so I can't use the old method anymore as they basically block off your internet connection from the Dream Suite in non-updated versions, so I hope there's a new way. Basically what I've been trying is going into the dream town, going to the home menu, opening up the internet browser, and attempting to start up Homebrew so I can export/import the dream town. Unfortunately that's only causing Homebrew to freeze at a yellow screen and not load up. I'm on 11.0.0-33, by the way.

Do you guys know the offset of your pockets and inventory? I want to try to manually edit them.

Something's up with my RAM file when I'm trying to edit it in hex, for some reason everything is a bunch of 07, 1F, and 00, yet when I inject my ram into the game it's the same. Unfortunately I can't edit anything via hex because it says my game is corrupted if I do.

acnl ho.PNG

For an example: Highlighted should be the offset for my main room of my house, which reads as zero despite being fully upgraded. When I try to edit it, it corrupts my file.

Help please?

'
I'm using the RAM hacking method, I edited my rooms and the changes did not appear in-game.
Sorry, room editing is only possible for garden.dat users.'

I didn't know there was room editing...?

Is there anyway to change the birthday?
Yes, you have to use a HEX editor, though. If you have that already, you can find the blocks for which character's birthday you want to change at 0x55F4 for the month, and 0x55F5 for the day. Convert the months into HEX values with an online converter for assistance. (Ex.: Months that aren't October-December don't need to be converted. Like April (04) = 04 in HEX, it's the same. Yet October (10) in HEX = something along the lines of A.)

The original spreadsheet seems to have been deleted, so I made a copy, but this gives all the info on what most HEX values are and where they are.

I'm using HxD first time. I went to 0x55F4 and F5 but FE and 7F are there. Kid said birthday now is 29 Dec so those don't match that. How do I make sure i'm going to right spot? I scrolled down to find it, is how I did it.
000055F0 line then moved over to row 04 and 05. I'm opening garden.dat file.

Thanks

I've been having a bit of trouble with that myself honestly, hence my previous reply in this thread, so for now just make sure to have an extra copy of your town in case something gets messed up. If I can find something I'll report back.

Hi there,

I've been browsing through the thread and I haven't spied a post that listed the offsets for the town ordinances. Has this been found yet or am I just blind and missed the post?

Is there how to add all the emotions in Welcome amiibo? I know there was offsets for editing it when the game wasn't updated.

i changed my town name a whiiiile ago through the NLSE and along with the name never really changing in game, it ended up glitching out my mayor character. unable to send or receive mail, villagers talk about me to my face like i was a person they knew from another town, etc.
since then i've created a new character, and to that character, the town name is reverie (the new name) and they can receive and send mail. i checked in the hex editor, and it looks like the town ID (the two bytes before the town name) are the same with both instances of the name (gensokyo for my mayor character, reverie for my new character.)
yet whenever i find/replace all the instances of gensokyo with reverie, inject the file and load again, nothing changes. i take it out, load the garden_plus.dat file, and the changed data has gone right back to gensokyo. it seems the town name is only ever gensokyo when i'm playing as my mayor, and everyone else knows the town as reverie, my villagers use gensokyo when talking to me and reverie with my other character.
when loading the file in marc-max's save editor, my mayor character has the wrong SID (0xb588) under his name while the new character's matches up with the town SID (0xc428.) this is leading me to think that the problem is in the mayor's character ID but i don't know where it is in the hex or what to replace it with.
does anyone have any ideas how to change my character ID to match up with the town ID?
