I don't have a development 360 anymore.

A guy from Cyprus might be sending one over, until then, the port is dead.
Sadly the Quake and Neogeo Pocket cores are still not working in retroarch 1.6 Quake gives me a system memory error and Neogeo Pocket boots to a white screen no matter what pocket rom I try.

Neogeo Pocket core has endianness issues.

Quake - ever since the FLAC/Ogg Vorbis audio track updates, it no longer compiles for me on PS3. I will have to get it back to compiling again and then see if it still works on PS3. PS3 is big-endian too, so hopefully it wouldn't be too hard getting it to work on WiiU afterwards.

Ah cool thanks for replying so do you think the Neogeo Pocket emu will never be fixed. If it's not I will be very sad lol. Anyway great work as always.

How do you set a hid controller up? I've been trying with my gamecube controller (Wavebird). But couldn't make it work.

FLAC/Ogg?
Does that mean that once you guys figure out the compilation problem, TyrQuake will now support music playback?! :O
Damn can't wait to listen to that sweet Nine Inch Nails cacophony!

Also, thought you guys might want to read this:

Those are two of Quark's post regarding the issue with the retroarch.rpx.
It seem to be having problems with core loading/switching.

If we delete the libretro_path setting inside the retroarch.cfg, the app loads fine and switches cores fine, it's only after a reboot of the app (after it saves the CFG automatically) that the issue with the System memory error happens again.

Hopefully this issue is looked into in the near future, I'll remove the tag.

Tested multiple cores all working great so far.

Sweet, gonna try it out later. So the main RPX issue is no longer an issue?

I believe you have to up the maximum number of inputs to 16, then you'll see the hid controls appear in the bid controls selection.

Ports 0 - 4 are reserved for Wii U controllers, and ports 5 - 15 are for the HID (USB) controllers.

In order to see HID controllers, you need to increase the number of players by one for every HID controller you have plugged in. By default the number of players is 5, so set it to 6 if you have one HID controller, 7 for 2 etc.

This does not mean that the first controller has to be mapped to player 6 though, it's just to allow the controller to be seen. Once it is enabled, you can go into player 2 for example and assign the controller there.

Keep in mind that the "All users control menu" setting is currently broken, so if you try to assign a HID controller to player 1 via the menu, you will lose menu control and become stuck. Editing the config file directly works in this case however.

No the issue still happens but everything works fine using the mGBA rpx to start it up.

Damn, I was hoping it was fixed, but yeah, either Quark or Aliaspider are the only ones who can find out how to fix it, so short of reporting it on GitHub, there's not much else we can do other than waiting for a legit fix. I'd report it on GitHub if it wasn't in vain (like the last bug report I made, nothing was truly resolved and was deemed an issue on my end, so yeah, I'm not gonna be the one to file a report).

Why though are you do concerned about getting a fix when the mGBA.rpx can be used instead you don't lose any features or anything by using it. Just copy the mGBA rpx to where the retroarch rpx is then delete the retroarch rpx and rename the mGBA rpx to retroarch.rpx its that simple and as I said works exactly how the broke retroarch rpx works without the issues.

No, but one shouldn't have to circumvent the main method to get it to run, as that's not a normal thing for an emulator to have to do to get it to work properly. Granted, I'm glad there is a good workaround to getting it to work, but the functionality is seemingly broken for one reason or another, GitHub would be a decent way of letting the developers know what's up (even if I do think reporting this bug is for naught, like I said, last time I reported this system error bug, I was informed it was a fault of Haxchi and that I had to use HBL with Haxchi and CFW to bypass it, sadly, that didn't work). So, if someone else wants to file the bug report, they're more than welcome, I sure as hell won't be the one :P

But it's just a launcher that loads the last core you were playing that's it. It does nothing else.

Fair enough, but other users should be warned of having to change the config file paths/renaming the core to avoid the crash.
It could be done by simply copying the mgba_libretro.rpx file from the /retroarch/cores folder into the /wiiu/apps/retroarch/ folder with the name retroarch.rpx
No path changes would need to be done afaik.

Alrighty, downloaded 1.6.0 and replaced the real main RPX with the GBA one and renamed it to the main one in its place, sorry about that :P

Edit: Replace it form the cores folder and not the app/mgba folder, correct?

Give it a quick spin.
Let us know if there's something out of place or something.
I won't be able to test it out until the weekend I think.
