If anyone is experiencing crashes when loading their game with a cart, try updating to a nightly build of Luma
I was experiencing crashes with Luma 7.0.4 but updating to the latest nightly (f5aa6393) solved my issue :)

The latest stable build of Luma3DS, 7.0.5 now fixes problems with LayeredFS in games such as Animal Crossing New Leaf.

Why is my game's loading times/response times for anything on the game ultra laggy with these sound files in? It took 3+ minutes to load the game menu, a few more on top of that to get my character out of the house, a minute to get into something like the train station, and having conversations with the villagers freezes up for 5 seconds when going to the next chatbox. My actual 3DS isn't lagging, just the game.

It's normal for the game to have longer loading times, especially when booting the game. This is because RomFS redirection and has barely anything to do with the music pack.

3 minutes for booting is extremely long tho. Is it cartridge or software? Guess it is your SD speed then.

If it bothers you, get the game file in either CIA or 3ds, unpack it, replace the music files, repack it, and install the hacked music version. You should backup your save file before you do this since this will wipe out your save.

Do you think it's because I'm running one of those MicroSD to regular SD converters in my 3DS? I had no other choice as I don't have a regular SD above 4gb.

I don't think converters are making any difference in speed. but if the game is installed as software title (not cartridge) AND you are redirecting romFS I believe it can take a while if you don't have a fast SD card.

I have it as a cartridge.. so maybe it is just the SD being ultra slow.. but it seems to work fine among other platforms, like a phone. Not sure.

I found a glitch, when I come back from visiting a friends town the train entrence music keeps looping along with the other accf track at the time until I bought a fortune cookie. what do I do?

You mean the arrival tune? I did not had this problem when I tested it with my friend. I will try to take a look at it today. Thanks for reporting.

Are the rain themes going to be replaced? Just wondering. Also, what was City Folk's default town tune? I can't find it anywhere on the internet. Also, the 8PM theme doesn't loop properly.

Hmm, I can take a look at the rain somewhere this week.

No idea actually, maybe watch some gameplay from City folk?

8PM problem is new to me, will take a look at that this week as well.

Thanks for reporting

The playlist at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLH834K1pkcjI6DHKCawkF87zFx23TNh5T has the rain themes. That would require converting the videos to MP3, then the MP3 files to WAV, make some edits so it loops properly, and then convert to BCSTM. At least that's how I converted songs to be used in games.

Thx, Will take a look at it (I hope) this week.
forgive me if I can't make it, I'm pretty busy and converting another pack of 24 songs can be quite time consuming since I want the perfect loops.

Since 8PM is indeed quite annoying I got that one here for anyone (sunny and rainy are the same so you should duplicate that one to the 20_rainy as well).
it will be included in the next update, together with the rainy soundtracks.

Enjoy your game :)

Yeah, even with the nightly build of luma, this is just making all of my copies of ACNL (CART and .CIA) crash immediately on boot. I feel like I'm doing something wrong? If anyone could help me that would be swell. Thanks and sorry for bugging y'all.

Can you provide me some more information? (Luma ver, ACNL ver, etc)
Just delete the folder you've made (with the corresponding titleID) and follow the steps again I guess?

You're the first one reporting crashes.

Luma version 7.1 with Boot9Strap, ACNL on latest update (pre-Welcome Amiibo version for both the e-shop copy and cart I have tried), N3DS XL.

I'll follow the steps again and report back if it crashes again or no.

Hmm, must be on your side. Maybe something with your SD?
