So I'm trying to get A9LH & Luma3DS CFW my nephew's 2DS after he randomly finds it a year and a half later after misplacing it.

His 2DS used to be on 9.7 before I cart updated to 10.7, and eventually 11.0, which is what the system is at right now.

I followed every single step carefully, double checked to see if I have the right files, used a different method to get into Homebrew (Ninjhax instead of Soundhax), attempted to get into Safehax multiple times, and used different methods from other sources that weren't from the official guide (i.e. Youtube videos and I know how outdated they are, but I wanted to see if those methods would work) that I previously used to install CFW on my two 3DSes and succeeded.

However, every time I would get to Safehax on the 2DS, the process goes normal except for one thing. Instead of a black screen that a lot of people have experienced, I was presented with a screen with red, blue, and green pixels. Then Decrypt9 starts to initialize and it just freezes there, along with more of those pixels appearing. The farthest I got was the Decrypt9 menu after it finished initializing, but I'm completely unable to process since it seems like the 2DS completely freezes on there. I can't do anything and the only way I can get out of the screen is if I power off completely.

I've never experienced this issue before. Does anyone know what's preventing me from using Safehax on this specific 2DS?

Pic is there for evidence that this actually happened and hopefully others can figure out what the problem is.

Firstly, have you tried using this guide, unless that's what you mean by official guide. Maybe try updating only to 11.2? Otherwise I can't suggest anything else from the top of my head.

Yes, I did used that guide. But the same result happens.

And I can't really update since I don't have a cart that'll give me the 11.2 update.
If I do update the normal way, I'll be going to 11.4, which is not supported for installing CFW at the moment.

I'm pretty sure you have the wrong safehaxpayload.bin. To my knowledge, Decrypt9 isn't used in the guide anymore. Safehax needs to load SafeCTRTransfer instead. Later in the guide you will set up GodMode9, I don't think there's anything left in the guide that tells you to use Decrypt9.

I did the SafeCTRTransfer yesterday and specifically used the correct safehaxpayload.bin to make sure I'm not messing it up. Unfortunately. I was presented with the same result, except there were some glitched vertical lines that were partly covering the right screen. Again, it just freezes right there every single time I load it up.

Pic is for proof.

Did you run udsploit before running Safehax?

Also, have you tried using Soundhax instead of Ninjhax? Just for shits and giggles.

That's strange, were any other hacks (i.e. menuhax) used beforehand with this 2DS?

Ensure that wireless is enabled. You don't have to actually be connected, but wireless has to be turned on in order for udsploit to work. You do know you have to run udsploit before each attempt at running safehax?

Safehax doesn't have a 100% success rate, maybe try going through the process a few more times.

Nope. No other hacks were used.

And the wireless is on. Kept it on since there's a part later in the guide that requires it to be kept on.

And I tried it several times the day I started (probably over 50 times), but I always came across with the same result.

When I did actually got through the initialization process with Decrypt9, I wasn't able to select anything afterwards, as the 2DS instantly froze. Before those times the initialization process just freezes there after it appears. As far as I'm aware of, it's supposed to go through without any issue if it does start initializing, but the red, blue, and green pixel screen seems to be the cause of stopping the process, yet I don't understand why.

I'm going to keep trying though, just to see if I can somehow get through that freeze. But after seeing it about every single time I start up Safehax, I don't think I could.

Well, at this point I'm just grasping at straws then. Try using a different SD card, maybe yours is corrupted.

You also could try using an older safehax release. Apparently there's an issue with the latest one:
https://github.com/TiniVi/safehax/issues/18
Alright, I'll try that. Hopefully it can fix it.

Also, about the SD card thing, I tried using the SD card that I used on my o3DS when I first installed CFW (I copied everything on it to my desktop, deleted the files on the SD card, and replaced it with the 2DS files), but the same issue reappeared. I don't really have an unused SD card as far as I know to try & see if a brand new one would fix the problem.

EDIT: I tried every single safehax.3dsx there was and the red, blue, and green pixel screen would always appear before freezing the system.

So I somehow got through Decrypt9 without freezing. I dunno why it decided to start working now, but I guess I'll take it.

I guess now the problem's solved. Kind of left questions what was going on with Safehax.

Mods can close this thread now if they want, since I'm able to install A9LH + Luma3DS.

I wouldn't trust that SD card if I were you. Seems awfully sketchy for it to randomly start working...
I used the SD card for my phone before and I had no issues.

I'm using the proper Micro SD Adapter for it, so I know it shouldn't cause an issue. Probably the fault is the system itself, but I dunno.

For now, the SD card is temporary until I can find a brand new one for this 2DS.

Maybe your adapter is going bad
