Hi All,

Looking for people who are interested in working on an English Patch for Lord of Apocalypse?

I was able to extract the game files using NOESIS extractor tool. (Not sure if all files are being extracted by the tool?)

But I am unsure what to do next, as I'm trying to identity which files are the dialogs.

Looking at the RZL file in text editor, I can see its calling out files with .MES extension. (I'm speculation, these are the files I'm looking for?)

If anyone can provide any insight or want to help out!?

Let me know.

Thanks!

Actually the English one was called 'Lord of Arcana' when it was first released, but it was plagued with many bugs and problems. Due to many complains, they reworked and re-released the game focusing on rectifying the issues.

Having that said, some files might be compatible, but I still need to find out how to extract the dialogs from the game.

I gave it a look a few years ago... was a dead end for me, but I hope you'll be luckier!

Have you tried looking for extraction methods for other PSP/Vita and Square Enix games? I think I heard .RZL files are supposed to be plain text...
I really don't want to get your hopes down, but you do realize that once you've extracted the data and you're able to properly read it, you'll have to be able to modify it and then pack it back in the game?
Keep us informed anyway! I'll be glad to help as much as I can!
I'm trying to keep translating the game's menus ans such on http://lordofapocalypse.esy.es/ & http://lordofapocalypse.host22.com/ (same website, just two differente links).

Also preparing a little surprise for PPSSPP users :P

nice!! also, maybe you might want to check out some of the textures from the Vita for your 'HD' stuff. Alot of the 2D images are higher quality and cleaned up on the Vita.

Indeed :) I got some screenshots from the Vita version, but sometimes, it's just better to create the texture from scratch (even though I'm not an expert in graphism/drawing, so, it might look odd from time to time...).

The only issues with what PPSSPP is offering through customizable textures is that you can only have the game on PC or Android (since you need the emulator to load external textures, It would have been great to be able to do that on the PSP/Vita) AND that I cannot do any complicated translation because of katakana, hiragana and kanji texture files being split between chars... So, it might not be that useful for people who are not used to reading translated katakanas or simply people who don't speak english.

But friends of mine who have been testing the custom textures have been reporting positively so far, so... we'll see!

extracting files if 1/4 of the problem, you still need a way to repack them back and 1/2 of the problem is translator lols

Could you attach (or upload and post link) said .MES file? Do you have any other file that could contain text (.raw .rzl) that you could provide us? I'd be glad to give it another look.

I managed to find some of the texture files with the Japanese and English chars in the .Iso through an hexadecimal editor, though it's absolutely not what we're looking for... We want the parts that point to those files so as to change them and point to the English file in order to try to translate it. But we have almost no mean to know what hexadecimal value points to which char...

download quickBMS and use this scripts on the .rzl+.rzp file.

Okay, so... I didn't manage to find anything interesting within the .RZL file...

However, if anyone wants to check out the PPSSPP HD/Translation stuff I've done so far, here's the link:

(I've included a "How to" to explain the install process).
