Information:
3DS XL Firmware version 11.3.0-36U
*hax payload version 2.9 Alpha

Available Entry Points:
Just soundhax for now.

Powersave Access?:
No.

Problem:
When launching the sploitlauncher that should install oot3dhax, it gets stuck on a green bottom screen. According to https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Exploits oot3dhax should be installable on my current firmware version... but it doesn't work. As stated, it freezes with the bottom screen turning completely green. All save files on the game are clear, I make sure to have the game in when I launch the sploitinstaller... but still no luck. Any help? Am I doing something wrong? Did that website lie; can oot3dhax not actually be installed on 11.3.0-36U?

It can be installed in 11.3, you probably need a save manager like JKSM, there might be a save that'll launch the payload somewhere on the internet.

Though if you're still on 11.3, it's probably best if you install CFW using: 3ds.guide

Okay, something's definitely gone awry... Tried using the JKSM method, and I also get a green screen. I get the green screen when I choose OoT as the target.

Because, it is always a good idea to have more than one entry point, obviously. And right now, my only option is oot3dhax.
Install CFW via 3ds.guide and you can have access to the Homebrew Launcher on the Home Menu and Soundhax as long as you don't do a system update after you finish the guide. No need for oothax. :P

I'll be completely honest here... if it hasn't already become apparent, I have shit luck when it comes to electronics. As such, I don't want to risk bricking my only 3DS. My family doesn't have the money to buy a new 3DS... it literally took me a year to get the one I do have. So if I can do it without needing CFW... then I'll be happy. But if it boils down to it... I'll just go without. Not worth the risk of bricking my system.

The brick risk is nearly 0 if you follow the instructions without skipping a single step. It's recommended to read through it first before actually doing it. A lot of Homebrew apps have been crashing to a green screen and there is no fix. A fix for either the Homebrew or the Homebrew Launcher itself needs to be released first to get past the green screen, and you'll get CFW on your device quicker that a fix will come out. It's honestly recommended nowadays to get CFW than to go without and miss the opportunity to get it. You're better off with CFW than without it.

Sigh... I'll give it my best shot. To be safe, going to read the instructions like 8 times before I do anything.

Okay, been stuck in preparation for god-knows-how-long by now. How the hell do I find out if my SD card uses GPT or MBR? Tried Googling it countless times and every single site has been less than helpful. I've tried Disk Management, but in every nook and cranny I check, it doesn't give the specifications for my SD card, relating to whether or not it uses GPT or MBR that is.

Almost every single card is going to be MBR. Unless you've been doing something exotic with that card, it's MBR.

So, before I began, I read the instructions about 5 times. I downloaded everything I needed and arranged them in accordance to the settings in multiple simulated "root" folders, one for each section that requires moving of said items. After going through step-by-step and making the appropriate backups in multiple areas in password-protected folders and in my dropbox, I am happy to announce that it worked! :D

My only question now is... what now? I also saw this at the end of the instructions: "To use NTR CFW, install BootNTR Selector." What is NTR? And do I need it? The whole purpose behind wanting an entry point to Homebrew was so I could play certain roms that control better using traditional Nintendo controls and not a keyboard. Am I still able to do that? During the installation process of CFW, it required I do a system update, which brought me to 11.4... which doesn't support my previously only way into the homebrew launcher. How do I get in now? Or did doing this just screw me over... =.='

I mentioned earlier you would have 2 entrypoints (HBL cia and Soundhax) if you didn't update when following the guide. You should have the HBL cia installed. No, you don't need NTR.

Yeah I updated, as it was in the guide to do so. Didn't want to skip a single step with there being a chance that it'd brick my system. If I had known that step was optional... I wouldn't have done it. Sorry for being such a noob, as this is the first time I've gone this indepth with hacking my DS. And thanks for the patience and help. :P Guess this means I'm now locked out of oot3dhax as well, yes? gg no re

NTR is only really useful if you want to cheat or stream. Luma3DS has added some of the functionality of NTR into the latest stable release. Read the link below for more info.

You can use hax installer on CFW. You don't really need other hax. You got HBL installed as CIA and a9lh.

I've been having issues with Homebrew... meaning, I can't launch any Homebrew applications. They all get stuck on a green screen. So, until now, I have just been using .cia files. However, I want to play a randomized Alpha Sapphire... but I can't find a dumping program that is a .cia... and HANS doesn't have a .cia either. Google has been less than helpful when searching for answers to my problem... so hopefully I can get an answer here?
